I don't get how you can have a hub centric spacer smaller than 10mm without increasing the size of the centre bore, otherwise the spacer won't sit against the hub? Maybe I'm being an idiot?
This is exactly what I was thinking. Maybe we're both idiots! smile

I haven't measured the outstand of the existing hub but from memory it's greater than 10mm, maybe 12mm or so. (I'm sure someone here can confirm.) In which case a 10mm hubcentric spacer wouldn't sit flush to the hub either.

More confused... irked

They're tapered down on the inside, I couldn't figure it out either until they turned up. I thought that I took some photos of them but can't see them on my phone, found one of the centre bore size of imolas though..

Still being an idiot this end as I can't see the taper in my mind. Does this mean they're a larger diameter on the side that mates with the hub, then tapering 'down' onto the hub as they near the outside face?

Ok found mine out, I have 2, 12mm hub centric spacers with a centre bore of 63.4mm. From looking back at my notes before, the hubs on the car are 10mm long, so to have a hub centric spacer sit flat against the hub 12mm is the smallest yiu can go to accommodate the 10mm bore already on the car. The studs I have are 65mm

Just to bring this thread back from the dead - I am fitting some 25mm hubcentric spacers to the rear hubs on the Chim, and need to double-check the centre bore measurements...

Daz says 63.4 in his post above, but Spaceman says 65 - I am looking at these spacers with 63.3mm - will they fit..?

Thanks in advance...

Ford is 63.4mm which are the hubs on our cars.
63.3 are too small and will need a bit of patience with emery to trial and fit, but only if made from Ali.
Personally I'd buy the correct 63.4 4x108 wink

Thanks for clarifying that Rob.

Good find - looking for the ones with their own second set of bolts ideally though...

In order to give better clearance over the calipers on the front with 15" wheels when I fitted 300mm discs, I used cheapo universal 5mm spacers all round. Absolutely no balancing issues or problems and I do not drive like a granny. drivingsmokin

I have had no issues with 5mm spacers either, on a variety of wheels.

I am already running 10mm universal spacers, but want to widen the track further - but at 20-25mm am thinking I need hubcentric ones, and preferably ones with integral studs as these will remove the need to fit longer bolts and are most likely stronger overall.

Just need to determine the correct center bore (answered above) and construction method - thinking billet aluminium...

Definitely need hubcentric spacers, but what you are doing with integral studs sounds like a good idea.

Have identified the following three options:

1. Unbranded ebay set (claimed billet aluminium)

2. Unbranded ebay set (claimed CNC machined 6082 aluminium)

3. Direnza-branded set (forged 6061-T6 aircraft aluminium alloy)

Anyone got any experience with these and suggestions as to the best set to buy..?

Otherwise I am leaning towards the Direnza set, given the torque that goes through our wheels - better safe than sorry for £30 extra over the cheapest...

Thoughts gentlemen..?

Original studs fit in a cast iron hub. Aluminium isnt good to fit a second set of studs in.
Personally I would fit longer studs so the Ali spacer is simply sandwiched between the hub and wheel.
If you want a second set of studs I think the spacers need to be made from steel.
Just my opinion though
