My semi-sleeved exhaust mod

I got rid of my sleeved exhaust after getting one of Clives y-pieces (full straight through and de-cat was ridiculously loud), and since then I have been missing some of the pops and bangs and raucous noise at full throttle. I thought I would try to rectify that so today I have half sleeved the exhaust that is on there at the moment to hopefully get a happy medium.

I was full decat and sleeved. Very loud. Went back to standard silencer. I was happy with it until I heard 4iturbobob's ACT system last night. Want one now! Quiet at tick over, loud under load. Was tempted to do the semi sleeved mod myself, wish I had now.

I cut the end off rather than go in through the top of the silencer.

I also have the clive y piece , I had a new middle box made up for my chim around 180mm long so just under half size now
the chim sounds just right not to loud but loud enough "great in a tunnel" lol your half sleeve should just be about right I think

Brought the car into work to try the exhaust out, thankfully the tickover and cruising volume is still very similar but it has a nice bark higher in the rev range and I have some pops and bangs back!

Very happy for an afternoons work, hopefully I can get a video soon

The best I've heard had half sleeved, good choice I'd say. Looks spot on Ace. Let us know what it's like to live with, I've been considering half sleeved for sometime now.
