I got a genuine additional 40hp after adding my JE alternator bracket, best of all I saw an immediate 25% improvement in fuel economy.You can literally feel the extra horsepower kick in right off idle, the engine spins up like a wankel rotary engine right to it's new 7,800rpm red line.
The only real problem with this bracket is having enough time to snatch the next gear, get it wrong and the subsequent on-off power transition has the rear tyres lighting up like a Nepalese monk's new Dunlop necklace.
I have learned to tame all this additional thrust but only because I am a diving god, if you haven't got the balls you should really just stick with the rattling old sprung tentioner.

Yes but you are going backwards ,i like the pulley tensioner its moving forward .The only time i would fit one is it was in the way .
Can JE guarantee me 5bhp i will buy one .

Good old fashioned tension By adjusting the distance between the alternator and the other fixed pulleys you will create tension on the belt.
It's just like we used to do things in the olden days
The JE bracket comes with a second bracket that gives provision for this adjustment and a method of holding the alternator in your chosen position maintaining ideal belt tension.
While a sprung loaded belt tensioner is dynamic providing compensation for wear and stretch in the belt what people should know is the type of ribbed belt used do not normally stretch.
When fitting the JE alternator bracket and to ensure the adjuster bracket has sufficient range of adjustment you will need a shorter belt, this is because the belt no longer passes around a tensioner pulley.
JE will supply you with a belt but it will be the wrong length itself, the exact length of your new belt will depend somewhat on the way you fit the adjuster bracket, this in itself is a hot topic for debate so I wont go there.
Do not buy the belt from JE if he offers you one, use string to measure up what you need on your car and buy a belt that suits.
JE also supplies a countersunk allen cap head set screw and another bolt with a 12 point head, but there are additional bolts you need conspicuous by their absence in the kit, so be prepared to make a journey to your local fastener supplier to get the right ones.
The kit is poorly put together to my mind and it's not particularly cheap either, however once installed and tensioned correctly you will enjoy a much neater engine bay and no more rattling sprung tensioner pulley with its cheap and inadequate pressed in bearing.
It's a detail thing for the TVR OCD really, but there are benefits and personally I like it.

Funny this Daz seeing has a correctly tensioned a serp belt should not need any re-tensioning during its service life not everything we do to these cars is in pursuit of HP, did your battery relocation add horses? The only time i would fit one is it was in the way .

If it snaps it much easier with the pulley fitted . It did increase performance,the battery weighs far less

Honestly mate ditch the sprung tensioner, they are a cheaply made item and the bearing doesn't last in the hot TVR engine bay environment.you ask one little favour and you get this
Here's my one that was itself a replacement of the original, this example had only done 10,000 miles and yes it was a Land Rover original part not BritPart rubbish.
