Daz, mine does 120mph in 4th at 6000 rpm. Later car, T5, BTR diff
is that with the standard 3.23 or the 3.08?
It will be the standard one, whatever that is. Any way of telling from under the car? I will have it up on Mat's ramp on Monday to switch my dampers round and fit some different seats.
Should be a metal tag hanging off giving you the info

back into the transmission rebuild for the second time i have now modified the brackets for the btr diff so it fits nicely into the chassis all done up drive shafts fitted etc. i have used the cerb ones as they have done little mileage and i am now in possession of a nice new 12 kilo flywheel for the superclutch so first thing monday will get straight into fitting it all back together.

The brackets just didnt fit right they pulled the diff over to the drivers side far to much cant quite see what the difference with our chassis is if the ones supplied do actually fit other chassis.

Looks good, does the damper act a bit like the springs in a clutch plate? Are you sticking with the LT77 box?

Why the need? Anything wrong with the standard prop? Mines had tons of abuse and is still in 1 piece. I have had to replace universal joints a few times though

Are you sure you didn"t nick that out of a minesweeper down at the boatyard, John? It looks somewhat, errr, "industrial
" strength.

Still using the lt77 reason for the change to a shaft with a damper is the triple plate clutch has no spring damping the driven plates are soild so a bit of damping should help the new diff survive plus make the drivetrain a little more civilised on the road.

As a way of an update on the Orange Chimaera - we have decided to now fit a sequential box to the Cerbera (follow that on another thread) - so the Tremec TKO600 will now be dropped into the Chimaera, this is part of a bit of a refurb both softening the suspension, dropping out the race clutch and generally making it more road friendly again. As you can see from pictures it now has a stable mate in a Ginetta G40 GT5 - for those who don't know them Ginetta build cars in the TVR style of chassis and fibreglass panels. We will be racing it in the GT5 Championship next year.

If anyone is interested in seeing it run will be at Snetterton 1st November on a trackday.

IIRC from my factory visit last Christmas, it's a 2 litre Ford unit. Nicely tuned, and very quick.

It is only the 1.8 pushes out 160BHP and is factory sealed as all the cars in the GT5 series need to be identical. But is 800kg and with aero + slicks + sequential box not much will keep up with it around the track. If it wasnt being run in the GT5 series though we could easily tune up to 200bhp no problem.
