Roof Down HORROR!
Discussion
A few years ago, driving along, oh so cool, about 80mph with my arm out of the window on a lovely summers day... SPLAT!
Wasp Speed estimated @ 22mph
My speed @ 80mph
Impact of sting @ 102mph
It HURT! However, the wasp came to rest @ 6 inches up my arm with it's arse firmly embedded between it's eyeballs!!!!!
Sometimes, there is justice for those little gits!

Not a car story but a pushbike story. When I were a lad we lived in a remote part of the world. One day I was riding my trusty chopper -lookalike and ran over a snake. Damn thing reared up and got caught in the spokes - I rode home with my legs outstretched until it was too mangled to bite me!
A number of years ago I was on a night out with some friends. we decided to go from Windermere to the Low Wood Hotel (near Ambleside) in my powerboat. In we leapt and sped off north. Of course it was dark being night. [Over the years I have run over many ducks as they slept as they are hard to see at 50mph without headlights, fortunately swans are painted white and are easy to see and seagulls have faster reactions than ducks]. On this night, as we headed north with the prop trimmed out and throttle wide open, I saw a flock of seagulls on the water (not the '80s group) but did not concern myself or slow down as they are always quick to escape. Unfortunately this bunch were a bit tardy as we whizzed through them. I spotted this and lowered my head below the low screen (about 6 inches high) however my mate in the passenger seat didn't and headbutted a rising seagull at 50mph . We stopped and his forehead came up in a masive lump but no other damage (didn't find the seagull). The girls in the back thought it was hilarious.
I remember getting a lift with a friend once, back from the pub - you know the deal. Anyway, tootling along a country lane and we see a rather nice and fairly rare butterfly flying down the road. Anyway, car was an old Toyota with a radio ariel.
Anyway, a little round piece of metal and butterfly meet - right in the middle. Splits the butterfly in half. Somewhat surreal actually.... then we larfed...
Cheers,
Paul
