While fiddling about under the dash near to the boot release button, I found another switch. It is a rotary type similar to the one for the interior blower. When it is switched on there is additional cooling air on the driver's side vents only. Is this an aftermarket modification or is it something other cars have? Despite the very detailed history, I cannot find any reference to it.
Just askin' confused

I don't think it's that hit and miss. I believe they all had them until the minor bodywork changes started in 1996 / 97. My '95 500 had one. Haven't seen one fitted to anything registered since 1999 (T reg) but I stand to be corrected. smile

My 1994 Chimaera has this, and I was told it was optional extra from the factory.

I've nothing on my 1993 Chimaera.
I'm guessing the very early ones never got it then if it was standard issue.

It actually also serves another purpose. If you are out of the car & want to open the boot, you know you've turned the ignition switch to the right place when you hear it blowing. (one more click & you start the car in gear & away it goes hehe)
