Thinking of selling

In our old band we used to say that practising was for people who were good! Which we certainly weren't
If I was to sum it up in one sentence:
I can't remember much If I was to sum it up in one sentence:
We often came up with new rifs doing sound checks,, we were gigging every week so tight as a drum
We actually practiced for over a year 3 times a week and that transformed our ability to play and perfect the sound. Bands slowly form and create its own identity.
We mostly played our own sounds which can take months to construct or slowly find its own path.
Great fun.
For learning and keeping your technique together these are great things for a drummer.
Very old now but my Roland TD5 practice kit.
You'll have to excuse the old carpet

Neck nearly back to normal, thanks Chilli
Need to ask Mac. If you do part with the old girl, what are you thinking of replacing it with? You seem a very restive person with the drive to be doing something constantly? Would you get another Tiv and modify like Gary suggested (LS in something?)? Or are you looking for something completely different?
PS it was you and Gary among others who helped persuade me to get the turbo and so relieve me of all my cash. You've a lot to answer for
Iain, it was definately Macs fault as far as i am concerned Need to ask Mac. If you do part with the old girl, what are you thinking of replacing it with? All TVR owners get astonitis at some stage.
Quinney had it for long enough to sell his TVR and buy one......and pretty quickly sold it and bought a Gruff again.
Richard has already said the Chim is quicker.
My next door neighbour had a DB9 new in 2004. Couldn't get over speed humps in our village, didn't dare leave it parked after dark in Cambridge. Didn't dare park it anywhere if truth be told. Took it on a touring holiday in France at 14 mpg, then had to have a £4000 front end respray because he couldn't live with the stone chips.
Your money, your call. Just don't be too surprised when it fails to fulfill your expectations.

I have just three things to say on this subject....
Firstly, Mac's Astonitis is nothing to do with me. Like nothing... Zilch, Nada, Feck All... I accept no responsibility whatsoever for Mac's need to have an AM in his life... It's not my fault, so back off....
Secondly, Anthony's post (quoted below) is absolutely spot on... The cars are completely different, fulfill completely different needs and cannot be compared with each other... This is of course a very personal opinion, you can compare them obviously, but not in a which one is better etc sense, that just doesn't work... If anyone is interested I'd be happy to do a back to back piece... If it was a case of one or the other... I couldn't call it... in an ideal world you need both
And thirdly.... I'll just leave this here
I want one too.
But I would want to keep my TVR for all the things I wouldn't want to do in the Aston.

Why do I feel like I've 'come out' ?
They are gorgeous, British, cars. Iconic, sound good, fast and luxurious. I want one too.

my two Cents, I won't ever get rid of the Chim, it's as special as the McLaren for lots of different reasons, completely raw and a sound better than any Ferrari.
You sound like you have lost the motivation Mac, so the question is what would you do next? - I don't see the value in doing a different engine install, so why not a different model? I don't think re-vamping Tuscans / T350 / Sag makes sense (as it probably lowers their value) - perhaps a Cerbera? lots + lots of room for big power.
I'll just leave these two here as well.....

Crikey, after everything I appreciate the thought, truly Motivation is the key word. Its amazing how much money you can make out of snooting around faebook.
No, amazing how much money you can make if you dedicate your life to learning to be the best at one thing (in my case programming) - and then spend 10 years giving up almost everything else in the effort to build a company from that knowledge. macdeb said:
