This post has sorted all your problems, all the information has been added, all the colour codes are shown and this diagram should match up to your vehicleClick the image once and click it again once it's opened in thumbsnap to view a big image

Thanks for that last post - that makes a lot of sense in marrying up the 6 wires from the Corrado mirrors with the 5 wires in the TVR plug.
Where it refers to re-wiring the relay, will I find that relay actually inside the door? Or in the sill below the door? Dumb question I know, as I have to remove the door card anyway to bolt the mirrors on, but I am just trying to maximise the amount of information collected beforehand.

If it were any car other than a TVR I would know the relay would be in the door, close to the controls. But Blackpool's finest are always different...Where it refers to re-wiring the relay, will I find that relay actually inside the door? Or in the sill below the door? It does mention in the image where the relay is, here is a snippet from the imageWhere it refers to re-wiring the relay, will I find that relay actually inside the door? Going by the above the relay can be found behind the outer door card yet the link lead can be wired in at the switches, this does make sense as all the relay wiring is terminated to the joystick or change-over switch that fit to the panel, it makes the job look easy

This infomation posted by ray von needs archiving somewhere, the wiring part of the job only involves adding 1 link wire at the relay as shown on the diagram and a few alterations elsewhereWhere it refers to re-wiring the relay, will I find that relay actually inside the door? Or in the sill below the door? Dumb question I know, as I have to remove the door card anyway to bolt the mirrors on, but I am just trying to maximise the amount of information collected beforehand.
Don't be mistaken in thinking that 1 link wire at the relay completes the job, the diagrams do differ and an electrician or yourself need to view them before doing the job
All the colour codes being included is a massive bonus
All the plugs look original, I include a snippet of the loom connection plug that I have had a good look at and it does match your vehicle diagram
Please don't thank me, I just enjoy solving electrical problems and happened to notice this topic that had been solved by someone yet had gone unnoticed
ray von is the man of the moment
Glad to be of help

All contributions to this mini-project are much appreciated - you are a great gang of guys and this has all helped enormously.
I will post up a photo or two on Sunday, once Captain Sparks has wielded his Phillips screwdriver to good effect

I can't wait to see the whole car in its new colour .. Is it plastic dip ?
I don't know it's proper name, but this is the latest version, is lacquered and chemical-proof, and can be polished. The mirrors give a good idea of the finish. I will be over at Lincoln getting these guys' great advice put into practice, so come over Sunday afternoon if you want a look, Daz.

...Now for the tricky bit. The wiring. Chimaera mirrors have 7 wires, Corrado 8.
Ignore the door opener two wires and the mirror heater element two wires.
That leaves how to wire the remaining 4 wires to three....
Your bio suggests you have a 1999 car, is that correct? In that case your mirror wiring is different from the bible as you have a mirror control ECU. I don't know if it's the same as the Cerbera but I'm guessing it will be, which should simplify the matter.Ignore the door opener two wires and the mirror heater element two wires.

It is indeed a 99 car, as you could tell from the flake on top. Your helpful comment has been passed on to Head of Sparks
Did you know Corrado mirrors weight 880g each, just thought I'd add this bit of info' to the latest thread on the subject I could find.
When the time comes these will be fixed over the yet to be glassed over holes in the doors where the PO cut out the original fixings as I can't use the kits available and the BX mirrors are broken with a capital F.
Question for peeps who have done it........What fixings in the door where used ie plastic plugs, rivnuts, or whatever?
Cheers

They had cut a lump of the corrado door (rust and all) and bonded it into the doors with filler to provide the captive fixings.
When the car was resprayed the body shop had to cut the whole mess out and repair. I believe the fixings are now nut & bolt but will have a look tonight.

So I imagine you can just drill two holes in the appropriate places in the door, right through the door skin, and insert suitable length M8 (I think it was, might be M6) bolts, right through the door, with any sealing washers you fancy in between, and fix in place with locking nuts inside the car. You can easily reach the nuts via the speaker hole with your arm, a socket with a long extension, IIRC. Good plan to have a competent friend, or the Mrs, holding the mirror for you while you tighten your nuts. Or reverse the roles, and get the Mrs to use her small hands to tighten your nuts for you while you stand holding the mirror and looking errr dainty.
On my car the Fibreon adaptors come with two captive nuts, so you just use two short M6/8 bolts to attach the Corrado mirror to the Fibreon adaptor, having first drilled through the centre of the Fibreon adaptor. I then bolted the whole thing straight through the old Citroen mirror mounting hole in the door and used a large washer and locking nut inside the door, with a suitable rubber disc in the circular Citroen hole in the door to waterproof the whole thing.
Email me if you want me to explain that better and I will give you a call.

Have done the same with mine and for the same reason - think it looks fabJust a note of caution to those planning on doing the same.
The VW mirror sits a fair bit higher than the original, which I think looks a bit better, this is not a problem for the near side but if you sit low in the car does cause a big blind spot, this takes a bit of getting used to when entering roundabouts and can hide a car coming round.
This is not a problem once used to it.
