Taking a couple of steps backwards- listen to the relays on switching the ignition on. Both the main relay and fuel pump relay should shut with a good click as you turn the ignition on- but dont start. Then after about 3 second you should here the fuel pump relay drop out with another click if all is well. You could get someone to hold the relays in the loom as you cycle the ignition and see if you can feel the click. Basically the main relay closes and then puts a 12 volt supply on the coil of the fuel pump relay, that is then grounded by the ECU to get the relay to close for those few seconds on a non rotating engine. It wont close again until you try and start the engine, or re cycle the ignition. I don't know where TVR put the immobilise circuit- but lets say the main relay clicks in as it should , but you dont hear / feel the fuel pump relay at the same time as the main one you may have a break in the 12v supply to the fuel pump relay coil.

Hi, thanks for this . I think you are right about the 12v supply as ur was only getting through at 9v for what ever reason. It originally started with a clattering fuel pump relay . Other clues were I could not operate the alarm by turning the key. So with a blown central locking fuse , now replaced it MAY all work as it should. But flat battery now and some days away working it can't find out for a while . Hopefully put it all back as it was , happy that I know a little more about automotive electrics.

All sorted. Not sure how but it all works as it should. Convinced connected to the central locking. Checked wireing , replaced all fuses, wd40 and general twiddling and pushing all connections tight. Battery on, alarm pipped and hazards flashed . Unlocked the car , ign on fuel pump primed and then start . Many thanks for all your help. I now have a much better understanding of how it all works . Now to get the speedo working!!!
