As some may recall from my questions about acquiring a TVR that until last Sunday 23rd April I have never been in one before not under it's own power anyway. Thanks to a very generous couple (Tony & Racheal) who met up with me in Norfolk and then after some car talk gave me a run out in their Chimaera. There was also the offer is a run out in a Cerbera but after our talk and bearing in mind the answers to my questions on these very forums have come to realise that a Chimaera is probably the best choice out of the two.

Now the first impression was that the Chimaera does not have doors as large as those on my MGF's and so getting into and out of the Chimaera will take a little while to adjust to. The second thing is that Mother will no way be able to get in and out of the Chimaera at all and this is with the roof off.. It's just too low and lower than the MGF for her to manage.

Now the ride is a bit harsher than my MGF's as they have the Hydogas suspension but about on par with the later MGTF's that have normal springs. Found visability to be good so now we have to look forwards to a first drive. Once we get first contracts done then will see about arranging a test drive of a likely Chimaera if possible as then we should be close to have the funds to buy.

I hope you get what you want.
My mum is in her 80s and we can just about squeeze her in by parking away from the kerb and I hold her hands and lower her in at right angles to the seating position, with the roof off. She absolutely loves it!

The problem is that her legs do not bend as they once did and she struggles to get her legs in even in my Rover 75 at times. Anyway we shall see how things go once we acquire a TVR after all it is not as if it is going to be the only car we have.
