I will go do a full check on all parameters, voltages etc on AFM T/POT Temps do all I can with what Ive got. See if anything gets thrown up. Swapsy at shakey sounds good lets do that.
Absolutely. I reckon I've used about 27 litres doing yesterday's runs and this mornings breakfast club run to Long Itchington Dinner. 23/24 to a gallon maybe off the top of my head including stop starts and many irregular speeds and miles below or around 50 mph. Once I'm at 50 mph I'm almost off throttle,,,, you'll soon see. jeez I better work it out properly,,,
Can't quite believe it either, I'm having to be conservative,,, 27 litres at 4.5 litre a gallon and 160 miles I think I've used less but hey
My gauge is pretty accurate until 1/4 empty
When I put 33 litres in yesterday it went from in between 1/4 and 1/2 full to just under full. About right with what the capacity holds and inline with the fact mine takes another 10 litres to brim and gauge goes well past full and barely moves for about 60-70 miles and nearly 100 miles on the motorway, crazy,,, , so normal Tvr and what mine is like.
It's now sitting higher than before I left yesterday so I have not used all that fuel, it's just now tipping below half way by a gnats cock, so I estimate about 27 litres used up. Handily at a rough 4.5 litre a gallon and 6 gallon of fuel to do a min 160 miles as I can't be fully accurate about the miles but it's nearer 170 I feel.
Which comes out at 26.666 devilish stuff!
Even if I've used 30 litres and I haven't that's still 24.24 mpg at 4.5 litres a gallon. KaChing
Get a new Ecu, sell your CUX and contrary to opinion you might claw back a small fortune in fuel and efficiency savings boys. My MBE cost me £1500 once everything was offset. How much did I save over other owners yesterday alone. I'll lend you the darn car to prove it, stop start it's the same, I use it all week locally some times, starting a number of times a day hot and cold and it's so cheap to run, Powers know I'd waffle, they did a fine fine job. And it's got to be the fastest down the strip on 38 mm trumpets unless someone tells me otherwise
12.603 remember... with more to come, it's fk off fast too for a car so economical. And don't tell me it's lean anyone as it's never to hot,,, all day yesterday, 70-80'on the temp gauge and fans only kicking on in prolonged traffic, admittedly for longer than usual but this is another observation I adore, fans do less work and even yesterday in what must have been 30 degrees go off within a minute or so Outrageous bloody car and more than I imagined.
Saying all that CUX cars can and do run sweet as when all working good, I still like them but overall I'd never go back and my fuel return says a lot about how magnificent these engines still are when controlled and fuelled so well. Every time I drive it I get this feeling, never dulls, gets better, £1500 for all that piece of mind, no brainier.
I was so lucky to meet Peter way back when I first came on here and didn't know how Ecu worked,,, he'd long gone after market Ecu and that was some 4odd years ago and then having my engine rebuilt I've been paranoid of over fuelling and bad spark and dodgy timing full throttle and just thought, why the hell am I allowing this engine to me run blind to me..
I'm no tech i and am just happy Jason at Powers is a very clever guy at these maps. You'll see Frank, total control throttle positioning, even still using TPS is blindingly accurate to use. Takes getting used to but then it's like meditation it's that lazy to drive, slowed down to 800 revs in 5 th going through Itch today for a little test, no clutch action needed, just apply the smallest amount of fuel and off with what is lots of torque considering the dangerously low revs, it's just chugs up and awAy like a steam train. Faultless, 1400 revs is the one, that's a point where even mappers struggle to overcome the pulsing effect and mine masks it entirely so in 4th or 5th gear it never shunts or is even likely to so I don't need to use clutch to smooth things, it's remarkable how my left foot isn't red hot and hurting when I drive it anymore. I have to conclude my new DIF has something to do with it and a final piece in the shunting jigsaw that again makes the pain and cost of that so worth while. I drove all day yesterday and my gear knob got mildly warm, new oil, well recommended there,, but the engine bay is not hot really so much less tramsmitted heat through car. trans tunnel used to get very hot, ive done over 25,000 miles on CUX so I know it was hotter back then compared to now.
Anyway, new plugs and you'll be ok

Sorry for the late reply gents, I was out with my good lady & a couple of mates on Saturday evening- and then spent all of yesterday nursing the most apocalyptic of hangovers... For some of you older fellows, that's where you have far too much to drink, get in at a silly time in the morning, then wake up the next day feeling like death.
Being in my early 30's I seem to get hit the worst- I'm no longer young enough to escape being laid out by them, nor am I yet old enough to know when to call it a night...
Anyway, great to see you all again on Saturday, we couldn't have got any luckier with the weather! There is something just so right about seeing a bunch of these cars parked up together in a proper English countryside pub carpark.
Oh, and the more I see Frank's moon-mileage car, the more I want it! Looked absolutely stunning in the sun, Halcyon Atlantis is definitely my colour of choice now. I think.
It was interesting seeing them all lined up with mine being the odd one out in terms of being the only early car there (next time Mike!), I hadn't really appreciated just how different the back-ends are on the later cars- i.e. it's basically a Cerb rear. Makes me glad I got a 95 car, having the serp engine + T5 gearbox, but still keeping the styling of the early cars.
I have all the pictures from our noisy, yank-tank driving, resident photographer- I'll be putting these up imminently
Edited: - the pics are super hi-res so not sure how they will come out on here, if they don't work I will get them compressed slightly later.

Class photography. top marks sir
I can't take any credit for the pictures but will pass on your comments! He said he had a great day too, so it couldn't have got to him too much having to man-handle that huge lump of pig iron around those country roads whilst we were enjoying the sun in our sleek British soft tops...

Was glad you could make it and nice to see your car on roads other than around Solihull And what great roads they were with a nice bit of spirited driving on occasions
Nick kindly sent me the photo's also and they really are much clearer than when loaded onto PH. Same as the couple I posted, they look really clear for a phone jobbie but look naff on here
Nick also went the extra mile because my car has got a battle scar on the underneath from catching a raised lump at my house trying to save all of 10secs and he's photo shopped it out
Look forward to the next one.
Ps : "Blaze away"
Frank, that was really a very kind gesture to come see how and what your alternative lifestyle is all about. Full admiration from this end and hopefully we can sort something out.

Cheers for coming! We'll head somewhere closer to you guys next time, we figured it's a pretty decent drive down near us though so didn't think anyone would object to the extra distance! I had a great time, lovely drive there and back.

They were all Nick's photos Frank, my photography skill doesn't extend much beyond pointing my mobile phone at something sadly! Definitely bring your kit next time though- Nick would love to see it and get the chance to talk photography with another pro!I will bring my kit next time you can have ago with some fast glass 50mm 1.4 is really nice and 105mm 2.8 with mscro.

As Jason says, the pics I've put on here are the compressed versions to get around the 2mb upload limit for PH- they really don't do Nick's work justice. The originals are all super-hi-res (4000 x 6000 in some cases!) so if anyone wants copies of them let me know and I'll happily email them across

Dave,
You know when we were talking about the lights and us both saying "wonder what it would like with your grill" as we hadn't seen any. Not your colour but gives you idea, gets the thumbs up from me.
Cheers Jas, yeah the mk3 lights definitely work with the older grille- it's a goer! You know when we were talking about the lights and us both saying "wonder what it would like with your grill" as we hadn't seen any. Not your colour but gives you idea, gets the thumbs up from me.
Just got to get the camshaft etc done first, and then start saving the pennies again. And to compound matters my gf has found a VERY tasty 3ltr z4 roadster that will be crying out for an exhaust upgrade if the deal gets done!
Anyone fancy a repeat performance when the weather next behaves itself? Gutted my car was MIA for the day
Jas I just caught your flyby noise videos on YT. Top work, have to say how good it looks in comparison having the Mk3 style lights! Has to be a must surely the next time we get some cars together. 5,6, however many Chims, all flying by on WOT, now that's a video I want to see

Yeah most definitely up for another get together, I've barely used mine the last few weeks- through a combination of ste weather, weddings, and playing with the (girlfriend's) recently acquired 3.0si Z4 roadster whenever I've been able to prize the keys away. Whilst it's good fun, it's no TVR- for starters it's still too quiet, you still sit too high, and both electric windows close at the exact same speed- typically German!Jas I just caught your flyby noise videos on YT. Anyway, after this weekend I'm free pretty much every weekend until Goodwood.
ETA: We could do somewhere a bit closer to the northerners this time
