Anthony, I predict a 12.2 after a few runs.
My fastest with road tyres was 12.07 so I am hoping to enter into the 11s if at all possible............
Hi Pete, what's all this 11.83 all about then?My fastest with road tyres was 12.07 so I am hoping to enter into the 11s if at all possible............
My own fault, I got carried away! Red lined it and side stepped the clutch on hot sticky tyres!
I am running a little more bhp but down to 430 torques all at a higher rpm.
I think I will run my Federal RSRs on 18" wheels so gearing will be higher.............
It's strange that running Mickies in ideal conditions and being brutal only gained 2/10s over my best over a pair of illegal shagged R1Rs.

12.8 RAINSPORT
12.6 MT but should have got a12.4 everything being perfect! Interesting
Maybe that just shows how good our road tyre's are.
with all this talk about the Mickey Thompson tyres a few of us have used regularly or maybe tried a few times I thought I would put my tuppence worth in.
Mickey Thompson street ET radials are fully road legal in this country as well as the US.
They offer unbelievable grip when warmed up properly after a burnout. Only full drag slicks are any better.
I have dropped the clutch on mine hitting the nitrous immediately and there is zero wheelspin.
Friends of mine all use them for classes requiring to be in street legal trim.
Andy Fadster in Twister which is a 10.5 ltr T-Bucket with over 1500 bhp and a 400 shot of gas has run low 8's on the same tyres numerous times.
I know out TVR's do suffer from having not the idea suspension to utilize these tyres to full effect but they do work. Myself, Brummmie and the current 60 foot record holder Barrie Piper have run very low 1.5's to 60 foot. This is a 0-60mph in less than 3 seconds.

I will try and bring my sons kettle type one as it should fit in the boot!

Bring fold away chairs if you have some Anthony, always useful when your drunk. I have two somewhere, I'll dig them out so there's always one or two spare.
I'm looking forward to this very much although I'm not driving my car.
Purely costs and not affording to be able to break it is the reason alone.
I don't expect to break it but if I did it I'd be in trouble and I want to enjoy it this summer on the road.
So as I won't be defending my title (29th fastest TVR) I'll leave it open for the mildly modded guys to smash my time into last week.
Should be a good laugh I know that.
You could easily arrive mid morning Sat and still have plenty of time on track. We really need a paddock area for just our cars so hopefully Peter parks up in Derek's spot Friday and enough of us arrive early Sat to make a claim.

I think there's a number of hot cars hoping to get into the 11's
Tough one that. Which ones have the softest tread blocks and which ones have the most amount of rubber touching the road. The softest is how I'd go with it. Can lend you 17 in Rainsports for a couple of goes 235/45 so,,, hold on, forget 5 stud. Bummer cos these gave me a 12.8 and I hadn't even knuckled down Peter. Crap off the gate so I was. but then I like excuses ?
