The York meet is the whole weekend.
I imagine that Derek will be running both days.
He is there with his fire pit and car from Friday pm.
The Cerberas are attending on the Saturday.
They then go on to the car show at Wentworth Woodhouse on the Sunday.
I will be there on Saturday if the weather is as per the forecast.
I will not be going to the car show.
Sunday's forecast is wet.

Don't let the weather forecast put you off, especially for showers.
York tends to have its own climate and if it does rain, the track dries fast end the FWD RWYB guys are sent out to help dry it up for us guys

Right, Volvo filled to the brim, trailer ready, I will be there......on Saturday morning, as mine is only a 160 mile round trip and I need a couple of nights of decent sleep (was up at 4am three times this week so far).

What a brill day out that was.
Track was possibly a bit slow Peter but weather conditions did favour fast times.

Most Cerbs are not set up with the ability to jump off the line, rock hard shocks, big wheels with minimal tyre side walls ( in some cases) so great sportscars but struggle to land the power down on initial launch.
They do look very long when I'm so used to looking at the shorter Chim and again that wheel base is their enemy.
Tell you what though, big shout out to all the guys and lady who raced therir Cerbs as you made a hell of a noise and didn't hold back the horses, very impressive to watch.
Top bunch of racers
They even loaded One guys boot with tools to slow his speed six down,,, biglaugh
He took it well I thought great people all of them. thumbup

Oh, the Chims looked great too. They went well and the body pitch !!! suggests better set up for getting the grip off the line.
Barry's car is so supple and has the right tyre's and engine and driver hehe
Fastest time I think 11.6 maybe, hopefully he'll confirm that?
129 mph terminal and by the way he was buzzing afterwards you kinda new it hehe
Hey before I forget,
Derek, both Barry and I saw something either fall off or get chucked up off the road from the rear of your car in your final run. O/S we decided it was most likely something off the track but I'd be under there soon as you can to check. Can't imagine what it could be off the Chim so no panic but we both saw it!
Luckily everyone got enough runs in and the heavens only opened right at the end,,, as we loaded the trailer.
Great laugh but I'm sure I'd have been like a few others if I'd driven, possibly dissapointed in the clock times. Good atmospheric conditions, strong tailwind but that can't really add much after about 2 seconds, I was surprised it wasn't faster though.

One of the best moments was when Derek told me he'd got the nitrous bottles working,,, then a massive grin on his face,, I felt danger but great stuff biggrin

Yesterday? The quickest Cerb on the day was 12.5, and he has never done it before, and was struggling with the launch. Another Cerb who had run once before wasn't able to match his previous efforts in the conditions..

Not saying there aren't some quick Chimps about, but yesterday, on road tyres, the Cerbs were quicker.

Sounds like it was a great laugh though..

That wasn't at all bad, 12.5.

Even though that may have been the first time he has run his cerb at a drag venue, he obviously has a knack for it as 12.5 is a good time.

It is all up to the individual. The first time the Daz, (Siliconekid) did a run, he set a blistering pace with road tyres with his 5.0 Chim.

As you said, a good laugh!

No malice intended btw, it's just that we know that a good sorted chim is underrated and is actually a very fast car indeed.

I think he managed to knock a second or so off his first attempt by the end of the day. Not sure how many runs he got in. I haven't heard of any breakdowns either! laugh

Yes, a sorted Chimp, seems to be able to grip and go very well! Ideal for the 1/4!
