Wind screen wiper intermittently stopping working

Wow, how difficult was it to get access to tighten up the bracket? The motor seems pretty buried under the dash by the driver's knee...

Unfortunately, looks like the type that's fitted underbonnet (up until '99) rather than in-cabin above the driver's knee for later models.
