Front Splitter
Discussion
Just fitted the Seat Cupra R front splitter part number 1ML805903
Fits well
What I had to do was to cut 16cm off each side.
Cut the 2 centre fixings down by 1/2 an inch from the shoulders then I filed the 2 v's into a slot so that when I put 2 screws through it, it could be moved back and forward in the slots.
When fixing it you need to sand all the fixing tangs flat
I used self tappers and small penny washers to fit it on. Start in the centre and work out to the edges I used a hot air gun to help the splitter fit to the lower valance shape.

Yes it has the 3 slots I slotted the V's in the splitter and put a screw through the middle slot with a keeper plate the other side so the splitter could be locked down but enough movement to position it where i wanted it and when in position I just drilled a fixing hole through the other V slot.
You can see the first slot in this picture in the open area of the splitter

I’ve been looking at this and splitters for some time.
Ordered the Cupra one as above.
Thanks for the thread as I’ve eventually done something about it.
My mates Mazda Race car took a knock at Zolder on the rear bumper and the mounting was crushed so I cable tied it on in a hurry, noticed how the bumper cause lots of drag so cheated by using additional cable ties to pull rear bumper in closer to the cars centre line on each side he ran 6th for awhile so reducing the drag worked as his best had been 10th before. It’s very obvious in the videos as the rear tyres can be seen.
I’m hoping reducing the air travelling under the car will result in a more planted car at speed.
I like the centre vent allowing air towards and even directed you could say at our existing splitter.
If it works well I’ll probably paint it the cars colour.

So what are these splitters doing.
My basic understanding of aero is if you disturb/reduce and slow down the air going under the car with such a splitter the air speed over the car remains the same so in effect pushes the car down.
Or more to the point maybe by reducing the air speed travelling under the car you remove lift.
Im looking for some front end down force, will the air pushing over the splitter angle which is set forward on the CupraR spoiler just like our existing ones going to produce a downward force right there on the nose? !
Interesting stuff

It won't give you front end down force directly. The principle is that it creates a pressure zone in front of the lower car causing approaching air to be diverted to the sides. That prevents air going under the car and so definitely prevents front end lift but is unlikely to push the front end further down much. Less lift rather than more down force
