Dude, you rock! Blues, rock, samba ffs? (sympathy for the Devil) then funk AND Reggae? From drummers I've seen, very few can make that transition easily yet make it sound authentic bow and have a right phuckin laugh too

You can’t just start doing this then 5 minutes later on stage but Mac and Neal the Daimond can smile

Braver than me I know that.
It’s the best fun you can have and be legal.

The Strugglers. I like that biggrin

Graham was that before or after he sacked you laugh

How lucky are you to be the lead trumpet player in a big band, why did I take up drums wink

For anyone who’s dabbled in the delights of musical theory and understood the complexity of playing any instrument it surely is a great gesture when someone thinks your a musician,,, what’s even more interesting is he obviously thinks you’ll get it right next time,,, no pressure or anything graham biggrin

A big band with horns and piano and guitars is a dream and a drummer in the middle of all those dynamics must surely have a heck of a time.

I’m not good enough for that sadly but maybe Mac will sharpen me up over time. yes
Then again he’s as delusional as I am, he thinks I’m good biggrin
Worse still I think him and Neal are diamond,,, thumbup
We had the best audience ever a couple of weeks ago. 160 people all intent on having a good time. Some last night of the prom stuff mixed with Queen and the Beatles. Our drummer is from the West end show we will rock you. The queen stuff was brilliant, truly great to be a part of.

Last year we did a 30 minute mix of Tom jones and Neil diamond type stuff. Brilliant fun

If anyone ever ges the chance to do Andy thing musical, give it a go!

Yes.......I have one sitting in my office for when I feel the urge to play.
Though I actually learnt on a tenor, 50 years ago.
Great invention, Mr Sax.

Sounds like you have a great time.
A big band is like the ultimate band in many ways, I used to listen to all the old big band stuff from the jazz greats of the past.
I learnt samba/bosss nova from the likes of Edmundo Ross when I was a youngster, only because my dad had all these records. I found some sheet music of his for Elvis Return To Sender with the words underneath when I was about 7 or 8 and that became the first song I learnt to sing too. My dad would play the double bass as my sister and I sang along. Piano in the Hse etc. He sadly left this mortal coil when I was not much older and all the music stuff stopped, funny how it gets you though and it’s in the blood.
My son is now a very talented musician playing piano/ guitar/sings and knocks out Ed Sheeran songs for fun.
I never thought I’d see the day some 25 years after I stopped playing that it would become something of a remedy for a broken heart.

The power of music.

Isn’t this thread about the power of cars smile

Standard cooling system is fine.

For the rest, what is your budget?

Brakes - depends on what you plan to do about wheels and tyres. If your wheels are standard 15/16 inch, then your brake choices are limited, but there are possible upgrades. But a decent set of fast road/track pads will go a long way, and change your brake fluid for higher temperature dot 4.

Tyres - you can do track days on your road tyres if they are up to the task. Tyres that are include Federal 595 RSR, Uniroyal Rainsport 3, Michelin Pilot Cup Sports. If you are buying a separate set of track tyres, then there are a number of choices, but you will need a second set of wheels. So buy 17 inch wheels to save you having to buy more when you decide on a bigger brake upgrade.

So at a minimum, some suitable tyres, and improve your brake pads and fluid.

Other thoughts - roll over hoop, adjustable dampers, big brake upgrade, track tyres, baffled sump.

Then you will want more power, so turbo, oil cooler, intercooler..........

hi stuart as above brakes will need some kind of upgrade the drilled and grooved discs with red or yellow stuff work well enough on a standard 4.0ltr tyres make cornering more assured, noise is an issue at nearly all tracks if your system is standard you will be fine just all depends on how serious you intend to get i have a set of imolas for sale with a brand new set of 888s waiting to be fitted.

Any ideas how to keep cool in the cockpit on Fridays ?
It gets very hot and stuffy .
maybe a fan bolted in for some air circulation .

Turn the aircon on, Daz. It’s those two struts in the back window that switch it on laugh

Early cars have a separate fan just to keep the driver cool. Maybe get the switch, fan and wiring from a breaker's?
