Hi Everybody, Help required I do not have any feed to the fuel pump. Relays appear to be O.K. I have a feed as far as the inertia switch, which according to the wiring diagram is the last item before the pump. Pump works fine and engine runs well if the pump is hot wired. There appears to be a loss of feed from the inertia switch to the pump. Can someone tell me please whether there is anything else after the inertia switch and how the cable gets from switch to the pump. This problem occurred between drive and garage 10 feet. Many thanks for any help. Regards Richard. p.s. MOT was booked for tomorrow!!

There is a connector in the passenger side B post. Slide the seat forward and tilt it. The carpet on the B pillar should be held by velcro so carefully pull it away. This gives access to a recess with wiring in it. Carefully undo each connector you find one at a time (unless you can remember the fuel pump wiring colours) disconnect and use contact cleaner or WD40 after checking for corrosion.

Hi N7GTX, you are a star, after spending the previous two days on and off tracing the fault through to the inertia switch this morning went straight to the problem. It was as you said the plug in the recess. All working well now off to MOT tomorrow. Thank you very much for your help. Richard.

I plan to rewire mine at some stage with no connections, should be easy enough to pull through 2 new cables using the old ones.

Rewire maybe...pull through with the old wire no way.
The wire run down the nearside door cill but wrapped together with all the other wires heading to the back of the car so you would need to pull the whole loom through but even then you may find it won't pull due to having carpet glue holding it in place.

I should have known it wouldn’t be that easy!

As long as the rest of the wiring is good you could bypass with cable, solder and heat-shrink
