Sadly it looks like we are not going to make it on Saturday. It runs very smoothly now on the new custom camshaft but somehow we have introduced a problem at high rpm (over 6000rpm) that we have not yet been able to resolve.
So unless it all comes good in the next couple hours, we will have to bail out. I'm really disappointed but I hope you guys have a great time and will try to join you next time.
Fingers crossed you get it sorted. Or why not bring it along anyway. Some datalogging and plenty of petrolheads to talk to may do the trick also.

Whatever happens I am sure it will be a good day followed by bbq and a few beers. I hope a few turn out even if it is to watch Barrie take my crown!

Thanks Derek. Bit of a trek for us to not to bring a car unfortunately and we have run out of time, car is not yet ready. Hope some of you guys take some videos, enjoyed watching the ones done from previous years.

Well it seems its all going wrong for me lately.
My transit van seized its engine last week. My back up van Thunderbird 2 is waiting for a fuel pump.
I took the Chim out for a drive and the bvggers getting hot in traffic so a 200+ mile drive in Summer traffic jams isn't worth the risk.

So sorry guys if I am along it will be later and probably not with the Chim.

I will pick another date soon and hopefully we can all make the next one.

Good luck to those there this weekend

That’s lovely as the only original bit is the shape.
Yeah I got blown away by a Harris engined one and now just feel honoured to have lined up with him.
That body is probably worth close to 10k I’d imagine
500 hp or there abouts ?
What’s it weigh 800kg
Ruddy fast

I’ve just realised that’s equal 4th fastest time on the leaderboard so extremely fast and almost as fast as his best at Shakey.
Weldone Barry
Is he having another go tomorrow. Might go faster again smile

Great video.

This shows how competitive the times really are.
And graphically shows the acceleration of a sub 11 second car when hooked up like that.
Looked like a top launch Barry. Can you match your 0-60ft times for this video from your slips,
Be very interesting as it gives a visual feeling for what these numbers represent to us smile

The Audi looked fast though, 1/2 second lost in reaction time alone but sort of hung on for such a heavy car, it’s time must have been pretty good.

I really like the look of the track all of a sudden!

Such a pity the other boys had problems seeing the quality of this video,,,,, a lot you can read from them, the racing would have been mega.
