Suggestion for you Matt,
Buy a Chim' that needs restoring with a nice body, buy my Chim' Project, swap bodies and Voila, there you go, cheap restored car.
BTW where are you it don't say in your profile?
I take it yours has a bad body?
Yellow stands out which is what you want with a sports car, although that red is amazing too.
Maybe colour preference goes down to age, i.e the younger generator prefer the louder colours. I know i do!
I decided on a bright orange front door instead of the boring white and brown everyone else has on my street.

I sold my 450 two weeks ago, local enough buyer for me to see it regularly of a weekend but won't stop me missing it once the sun comes out.
Drove the new AMG toy to a PPF specialist today and buggar me they had a stupidly stunning T350 coupe with only 9,000 miles on the clock in a fully polished Cherry Red that is drop dead gorgeous...............coming soon to my local TVR specialist so will drop by to check the price

Glad to see that you sold that lovely Chim of yours. She really was a beauty! I also completely see the idea that you are tempted by another TVR! Good luck fella.

There's a '98 Chimaera 400 in the classic auction at Brightwells next week. New outriggers in 2013, recent new clutch, 73k miles:
1998
TVR Chimaera 400
Pearl Blue
S280 EAF
Chassis No.
SDLBA01R3WB001953
Engine size
3,952 cc
Engine No.
37A4OP6544
Documents
V5C; MOT April 2020; owners manual & service book with 21 stamps; file of invoices; 18 old MOTs
Estimate
£14,000 - £15,000
Estimate seems ambitious (for an auction) but I'd be pleased if it reached that! They have a very clunky website and I can't link to an individual car. Here's the whole catalogue, it's lot 103:
https://www.brightwells.com/classic-motoring/leomi...
There's a low mileage Griff too (guide £22k + !). It'll have original everything I expect apart form the mentioned changed shock absorbers. Home maintained too:

I am contemplating selling my S/1998 Chimaera 400 PAS if interesting as looking to get into a later T Car. I bought it off Ian @ Sportmotive last year. It had brand new outriggers last year and full history with all bills/paperwork/manuals/books.
It is Amaranth pearlescant with Tuscan Speed Six headlight conversion. Open to suggestions on price as Chimaera's seem to be all over the shop.
Not 100% decided yet as haven't found the right T Car yet but will likely look to sell mine first before buying another. Unless a dealer car came up with mine going in part ex.

Another, Noooooo!
It was always going to be a matter of time.
I have often wavered in the last six months and thought about a change but just look what is available with the following criteria:
Up to £25K ish
V8
Light
Manual
Presence
Very fast
Handles well
Great soundtrack
Convertible or coupe
Look at all the cars in auto trader and pretty much the only cars that come up are Chimaeras and the odd Griff.
Sad really. It just goes to show how all the individual makes and models have disappeared over the years and what we are left with generally is what the big boys want us to have. Individualism has pretty much gone out the window!
On the other hand, I appreciate Grahams direction. He drives a Boxster as his daily and no doubt enjoys his journeys more than most people. Good on you Graham!
Maybe that is why I do most of my driving in my oldest car, an early MK1 Octávia vRS.
Remapped to 220 bhp, fast, devours country lanes, super reliable, 32mpg and cost me £950.
Back on topic. I hope a few things come your way Alan and you can put the sale of your baby on hold.
Sometimes life just deals a few bad blows that hopefully we can deal with.
Well, I have decided to keep the car. I have been using it most weekends and have even filled up with petrol three times recently! New tyres being fitted at the weekend and off to Spa for the Classic next week. It was always going to be a matter of time.
