I’m using AZEV wheels
7.5 J x 17 H2 allround.
I add 5mm concentric wheel spacers all round to bring the offset back out.
Basically without spacers the inner section of the wheel is closer to the chassis/wishbones than a standard wheel so the spacers help to reduce that offset.

Also when on full lock without spacers fronts might rub on inner wheel arch bodywork.
Frankly decent tyres and a few mm offset either way makes next to no odds imo.
Nett result, wheels and tyres sit further out on the outside and almost the same on the inside as per standard.

215/45/17 front tyres
235/45/17 rears

I thought Daz had RS on16’s?
Thanks Al!
No idea what Daz is running..... hope he fixed the crack in his bonnet...

Did you ever get round to pulling together all the paperwork on yours and posting an ad?

Sorry, no. I will do though. I will see if I can make a start today and get over.

Most of the last week has taken all my spare time outside work putting all the purchase of Macs old 450 together with Greenside Cars. Disappointingly it has fallen out of bed as of last night suddenly.

If you are genuinely looking for a 450 then keep an eye on PH classifieds shortly, my old one is coming up, (unless he does a private deal first....biggrin)

It is a fantastic motor.

No hadn't seen that before but funnily enough came across this one this morning. Looks decent to me. However looks as though it has lived outside not inside. Not sure what that power cable is running across the nearside of the under-bonnet. Maybe a battery re-location but weird place.

No MOT history before 2018 suggests it was off the road since at least 2005.

Can’t see the pictures but cable could be to an Anderson connector I’ve got one under the bonnet very useful for those flat battery occasions...

This seems to have a differently shaped rear numberplate recess? Maybe its one of those japanese/malaysian versions thats been re-imported- might explain no mot history?

No PAS - views on whether it is essential? Guy that did my recent inspection suggested he wouldn't recommend anyone buy one without it.

PAS is good for parking and that kind of thing.
Once you are rolling, no issue.

I researched the same when I was looking at my first Chimaera. It seemed PAS was the way forward. However the first one I had wasn't PAS and my current one is. Once at speed you don't notice much difference. Depends if you are going to be doing much low speed driving or parking as it makes a fair difference then?

Also how much it will you use it? Is it to be a daily or fairly well used? Or an occasional toy?

I had plans at some point to seriously consider upgrading the old non-PAS car to an electric variable system that looked really good. However never had the car long enough and moved into my current one that had PAS already.

I think it is personal preference and some will say one thing and others another. I don't think having PAS is ever a bad thing but non-PAS my be harder work on occasion at low speeds. A good little work out isn't too much hard ship every now and again. Put hairs on your chest and build up your muscles!

My conclusion was I would look for a car with PAS and hopefully g#et one with it on. However if a car came up I liked and the numbers were right I would forfeit PAS. Exactly what I did on my first car.

It would be occasional toy, but I live in Zone 2 London and would be parking it in a fairly tight underground car park ...

Mmm maybe in your case PAS would actually be pretty useful and welcomed.

It can be retro fitted to a non-PAS car and there are electric systems etc. out there but it would be much more expensive to do I suspect than buying a car with PAS in the first place.

Remember ULEZ will apply to all areas inside the N & S circular from October 2021. I have no idea what exemptions you'll have when living inside that zone.

I found parking and negotiating tight low speed bends and roundabouts a chore with non pas.
Would not go back after doing a subaru rack conversion.
