Removing carpet glue and loose bolts......
Discussion
Just wondered what the experience might be of removing carpet glue, having got rid of the carpet and most of the backing foam. Of course its questionable whether its worth it, it seems that sand paper would be safest. I am worried about using glue remover in case it interferes with the fibreglass resin....... I'd like to have it smooth and thought about painting some of it. I had a big moth infestation.....
Also the bolts holding on the folding alloy roof stays - one has a seized nut and is turning in the socket with the nut. Is it just a carpet in the boot out job to get a spanner on the other end? I can't get it to fit from inside the cabin through the vent hole....
Cheers

Presuming the same boot fit (?), on my 1996 Chimaera, there is a piece of carpeted board between the top of the fuel tank and the boot lip. It is shaped at one end around the fuel filler neck. It simply pulls out and you can then access the bolt head of the roof strut.
I see you have the roof right down so should be able to reach OK with an extension onto the bolthead and the nut inside the car with the other hand.

I saw one of these on a car show once, it was used for removing body decals/stickers without paint damage.

I hope you have taken plenty of pictures showing where the foam goes.
You may not have noticed there are gaps in the foam. These are so that the sewn carpet seams have somewhere to lay without there being a bulge in the carpet surface. I failed to find foam or lining that is the same density.
