10k doesn’t surprise me in the least if your taking a tired car and bringing it back upto rude health.
I’ve sort of done it the other way,
Driven and repaired/ replaced / upgraded as I go along knowing full well one day the riggers/ chassis will need reworking, my man math was if I replace as much as I can as I also drive it I get the benifit of these new parts and then when the inevitable comes along I’ll only have brake and fuel lines to replace getmecoat

I’ve just today taken my car to a friends place because it needs outriggers at least..
I’ve often raved on about changes that have improved the car and again today driving it on a few main then country roads on its last journey ( for awhile) after so many I’ve done in it I found myself agreeing with everything I’ve ever stated,
The clutch is like pressing a soft pillow ( thanks Anthony / Peter )
Tyres/ suspension/ride/ grip, it’s all there, I actually revel in hitting bumps just to impress myself how well the tyres absorb the buggers, then after it was fully warm, a quick bit of fast acceleration, it’s very fast, I’d forgot just how fast,,, 4 months at least not driving it so it was all a pleasant shock.
So it’s now tucked away until we can do something with it frown
I will be removing manifolds and attending to my TOP main chassis tubes in that area as all powder coat has pretty much vanished and rust has formed, it’s just how deep, which will determine the ultimate road I’ll be travelling on,,,,,,,,,,, id rather take the body off I must admit scratchchin

The car in question is probably a reasonable buy if you intend to do the work yourself but if it were me I’d want a full body lift to do the chassis properly.
If your not able to do the work, and guessing all the chassis needs some attention, adding an estimated £5000 to the purchase price means you could have got a pretty much sorted car from the start.
Sorry if it’s not what you want to hear but buying something you can enjoy from day one makes a big difference.
Please don’t take offence at this, just my 2p worth.

Your car is the same year as mine, (99, poor powder coat allegedly). Hopefully it will be okay and just the outriggers.

I have been over mine completely and the chassis is in excellent condition even though I have touched up the paint here and there when I have been in there. Certainly there is nothing that would justify a body off unless you fancy doing it just for the crac!

I rubbed down accessible underbonnet areas and gave them a coat of Combicolor original.

Waiting to chop off the outriggers!

All done awaiting gearbox fitting.

There is nothing but dirt on the chassis, upper and hidden areas are all perfect.

Hopefully most cars will have weathered well and it will only be outriggers that require attention.
