Holy moly,,, you’ve borrowed that graph hehe

340 ft lb torque from 2000 revs that must be the best I’ve ever seen or near as damn it.
Rather than start this stupid debate over which Ecu is best explain exactly the mods and how this has been achieved as there’s never just one reason alone.
Hi Alun smile

the graph was from my old V8S. I built a 5 litre for it based on a TVR 5 litre I bought in bits from plasticman.
Spec was:
Rebuilt but Std TVR bottom end and 43mm heads with a slight skim to true it all up.
Mechanical cam from Rob at V8D (not sure on spec though, not too wild by the look of peak power just on 6k revs)
Solid lifters / adjustable pushrods.
Blended base
Jag throttle body welded onto std alloy plenum
KMS ecu and VW amplified coil packs, later put onto Emerald K3 ecu.

I'd forgotten what a good engine that was ! Loads of power from low down right to the red line. That was something like 12/13 years ago now and it would still be an epic engine even now.

When Peter asked me for a dyno graph between 350 and 360hp I thought it would be ideal for his little joke wink

Hi Joolz, honestly now I know it’s your engine the joke is so funny but yesterday I was in utter despair, ive been ribbing Pete for like a year and thought my life was now over hehe

I knew really as there was no info on the graph,,, still it didn’t stop me kicking off,,,,, just in case biggrin
Then Andav adding to my misery, I should have known as he’s a gentleman wink
I spend far to much time feeling miserable so it’s actually some relief.
That engine,,, that’s something that.... do you still have the car and can I borrow it hehe

People often bang on about this dyno or that, having ran side by side with cars tuned on at least 3 of these dyno I concluded ages ago they produce similar numbers based on the level of tuning and non of the dyno’s are that far out from each other.
It’s only when I get stuffed does the racer come out and I grasp at straws.....

I’m going to ask for a drive out with PJ’s car as I’m well impressed with the curves using the blended base as I’ve wanted to do similar all along and if it’s reasonable as a road engine I’ve got all the bits here to do similar. Peter’s ( Phazed ) car after your last session really impressed me as on the road it was great really, nothing like as lumpy as I was expecting as that has all the bells and whistles so my worries are probably misguided.

Dom should be thankful you told me the truth as I was likely to rare up there too,,,, biglaugh

It’s such a laugh this Tvr lark.

I thought I’d left this racing banter behind years ago but it runs though me like wildfire and I think I’ve found some motivation to enjoy tuning mine a bit more. The beauty of having spare parts,,,, thanks Peter and PJ is I can do this and if over time isn’t needed I can always return it to the engine it is now which is a really good one on many levels and I’m loath to ruin it.

I’m meeting my old friend I spent 3 years going grass racing with as we’ve just connected up after nearly 30 years in different worlds and he has a lovely workshop to build bikes in,,,,,,,,
I can’t wait as the respect for each other runs so deep, I can’t wait to talk about this meeting or that and reminisce over those great days we had together.
I hope we are all doing similar as the years roll on as the memories matter far more than the competitive animal.
Have a great day Joolz, between you and that Yorkshire man,,,, what’s his name again biggrin
I have’nt laughed so much in a long time.
