Range Rover Temp Sender Thread Size?

Having now had the TT6811-03 sensor fitted to my car for a few years, I’m still very happy with it.
I just have one problem that raises itself exactly once a year: Every time it goes in for a service, it comes back with the wiring moved back onto the traditional sensor!
And this time they actually told me that the sensor wiring was fitted to the fuel temperature sensor. It definitely wasn’t - it was connected to the previously unused LandRover coolant sensor location, with the new sensor fitted. And this is one of the most highly regarded TVR specialists in the country - I’m surprised they thought it was a fuel sensor, because it’s clearly not on the fuel rail.
It’s a real pain moving the connector back every time, because access is pretty tight.
Does anyone else have a similar problem?

Not sure I’d place much faith in them with the rest of the servicing.

Why would they interfere with the car without your say so , I have been in the trade long enough to notify the customer of a change like this purely because if that caused a further issue then we become liable and it opens a whole can of worms , they are daft to of done this IMO apart from the fact the gauge would indicate for them to leave things be , I'mconfused.com
This long story is great..... but Im getting a little confused by the location of the sensors we're talking about - can someone advise please.
My gauge has stopped working, gets up to about 60 and then drops back below 50 off the scale, shorting the lead to earth makes the gauge move to hot -so pretty sure its the sensor.
Now my sensor thats failed is on the front of the engine, really difficult location behind distributor - on the end of some brass looking adapter, is this where I should mount the new TT6811-03 that everyone is talking about? Or should the TT6811-03 replace the unused sensor thats on the top of the manifold right next to cyl1 injector?
Are we saying that I should abandon the one behind the distributor and instead replace the unused sensor with TT6811-03 and connect the gauge to that?

The pictures on page 1 will show you, you do away with the one in the extension tube and use the one in the top.
As for vacuum advance without going into too much detail you may only notice it at low speed low throttle openings more than when your pushing on as thats what its for, the pipe to the plenum should be plugged with a bolt for the time being if your using the car whilst its disconnected as it introduces an air leak.

The TT 6811-03 goes where you said, and the wire from the original sensor attaches to the new one. Job done.
