Thanks chaps.
By a process of elimination I concluded similar. Can’t find anything that might bolt to it.

What hangs off that left hand side bolt the brake line runs past? I’ve clean forgot! Thanks

Would imagine thats for a LHD version seeing as the brake lines will come down the other side of the chassis , you have the earlier revision of the brake pressure regulator (same as the MK1 cars) its a single on a T piece some of the later cars I have seen have one PR on each caliper line behind the brake hose union smile makes no odds really just saying , eating lunch whilst writing this and having a lunch break from replacing my diff laugh got to stay busy rolleyes

We have a car... nearly.

There you go, ready to hide for a few weeks. frown

A few things and it’s mountable oh er missus. It’s the last bit that takes the time. This lot took a few days really. Just only a few hrs here and there when the area is free of people. Rear brakes are there including hoses, front roll bar, took an hr working that out! Great fun. It’s so sad feel I need to stay safe and stay away.

Yes I know the o/s rear brake flex hose is twisted. Pffft! Lol

I’d tell anyone with facilities I’ve been fortunate enough to use available, even without, this as a no stress take your time bunch of satisfying fun. . So easy with body off.
For years I’d look underneath and think foook there’s still so much of the car I don’t know but actually you do. Other than the centre section above gearbox you can see here 90% is actually accessible using a 7 year old child’s arm but it is.
Loved connecting the rear brakes up, left hand brake cable for now as it’s perfectly serviceable but it’s also one of the few things I’d not want to change with body on,, even if it’s possible so will get a new one when I can actually finish the car.
It’s so great doing this lads. Just do it is my advice. thumbup

A good tip. Sacrifice a key and cut it down. Even with 1/4/drive I couldn’t get a straight line into the Allen head to clamp calipers to hub. You can access bottom ones with socket set and 8 mm Allen attachment. Lock tite on all brake caliper bolts.

A few notes on my pad, Top hub wishbones bolts are wrong. I have the correct ones, Can’t believe I used the wrong ones. I really want to replace the shocks too so this is all just to move it around.

Rear calipers will be re painted then too. I have limited time so just had to compromise for now. I love taking them apart so it’s not so bad. Now everything’s there just about it’s easy to disconnect one or two things and sort it. Double handling as we used to say but hey this is a hobby and good practice smile
I’ll never forget how to assemble it put it that way. What a great experience

My breath was baited for a lot less time than I thought it would be .. well done... it really looks great .. Although the Chimaera body is a thing of beauty, it's almost a shame to cover up your beautifully restored chassis .. biggrin

Should have been finished weeks ago but there you are.

Yes I could stand and look at it all day. Should look fabulous under the body though. The gold tape will be a bit more stealth by then. A bit of touching up to do like the Diff area and where the chassis was hung for painting but basically ready. The paint has handled the rebuild great. Tough as nails. thumbup

Only advantage with the capheads is they are a higher grade material, as they will be 12.9 rather than standard 'high tensile' engineering bolts which are 8.8 grade.

Me too. It’s hardened off and more a satin finish which is cool.
I’ve always felt with the light blue of the body colour white works well. That and black. Rear hubs in Matt black is so you loose them when looking at the car. Not exactly attractive things even though well made and rugged.
17” wheels show them more.

Yes Alun biggrin the Ford donor cars used the bolts I suggested only TVR knows why they used cap heads that rust and fill up with crud frown no reason whatsoever rolleyes saves all the faff with Allen sockets/keys etc , I changed mine about 12 years ago when I renewed the calipers discs handbrake cables etc and realised they had to go in the bin
