I want to offer the car once, and present it in the best way to attract a wider audience at of course, the right price.

I think the following is probably true. Feel free to correct me.

1) Offer it as it is, Elise seats and rollbar. Very limited market.

2) Standard seats and rollbar. Slightly increased market. Probably someone who wants a standard car with a bit of safety.

3) Standard seats without the rollbar. Larger market. Someone who wants a standard looking car but would appreciate the additional power, better braking and improved suspension.

Thoughts?

You must have pictures of all three scenarios. Offer the buyer a choice and cover all markets?

I’d just go with option 3, seats and rollbar should sell easily separately.

They will sell, not worried about that.

Just want to present the car right first time.

How is your rollbar connected to the car?

I presume it is to the chassis itself so if you will then need to repair interior carpets / put grommets in the body maybe where it passes through if it is removed. It may be more presentable to leave it fitted.

IMHO, drivers would probably prefer the standard seats unless a potential buyer intends to do track days. And with that amount of power, not surprisingly!

I have replacement carpets to go in. Otherwise it just nuts and bolts.

Thoughts are to remove it and the Lotus Seats, put in the new carpets that have been affected and bolt in the perfect condition cream seats. That way the car will look completely standard, (Apart from the cerb wheels) and appeal to more people.

Instinct says you are correct.
Just don’t list the roll bar and seats until after you have sold the car, as there are a few buyers who might want them to go with the car.

Standard look it is.

Seats are out and I’m taking the opportunity to renew a couple of sections of carpet.

It's not as prevalent as many think. If you look at the figures for the Chimaera, Q4 2018 and Q1 2019 still had more licensed vehicles than SORN, i.e. approx. 60%.

.....looks likes over a half of all Chimaeras remain taxed through the winter!
Laziness as much as anything else I expect!

Certainly I leave the Westfield tax/mot/insured all year round, the cost saving of sorn is minimal, and trying to do 6 months insurance cycles is fruitless.

Sometimes I even use it in the cold!

I think your car isn't going to appeal to the wide audience type of person unless you're only after the sort of money a car without all the mods/power is going for. If you're after more I suspect Joe average will just dismiss it as an expensive car and the kind of person willing to pay what you car is worth will appreciate it's not the run of the mill and will likely understand that the role bar and seats are removable if they want.

But given the engine, surely that is already a given, seats/roll hoop aside.

Roll bar and seats are out but will be offered as an option if anyone is interested.

I think that offering it with the standard seats but with everything else upgraded and looking like a very nice sleeper standard car would appeal the most, in my opinion. I am usually right as I tell my wife! wink Hope I am...........
