Just refitting my injectors and a bit surprised to see that there is flexibility in the positioning up and down as per the photo below, I guess the one on the left is correct being fully down but would like confirmation?

You still need to fit the rectangular circlip which holds the injector in the groove against the fuel rail and sets the correct position.

The one on the left (or the lower one as the photo has appeared smile ) is correct and the rectangular clip mentioned above will set the height. The other one is not located all the way in.

On my last Chimaera, I found it best to fit the injectors to the rail first, but it's still a bit of a faff. I had a leak at first due to trapping one of the rubber seals (which had been replaced with new ones).

thanks guys
Looking through my photos i can see that now, i didnt really look carefully when i removed them, i just assumed that on installation everything would locate correctly when bolted down, but obviously not, my old ones are rusty and horrible so i will buy a new set first, very surprised at the cost though, around £5 each

What V8 fan said ^ and always use engine oil/transmission fluid Vaseline or Silicone grease to lube those upper and lower O'rings or they tear/scar , never torn any in over 33 years on the tools (bloody hell I'm getting on) using above method
