Does the rotary polisher create 'swirls' in the paint. Past threads on the subject of polishing have said to polish off in a straight line action?

Used Zymol which gives a fantastic finish, though it does take some effort! Halfords sell it and if you like a coconut smelling car then this is the one to use!

I've also used the Halfords Zymol and much prefer the results to autoglym. As you said, luvly smell - for weeks afterwards the garage smells of a tropical beach, rather than qwikfit. Apparantly the Halfords stuff is not the real mcoy(sp?) as it's £12 vs the £90 mail order starter kit. I find Zymol very easy to use. Look back on the threads on this.

Halfords Zymol is the only abrasive Zymol polish in the range IIRC. So take care with the rubbing

It vibrates in a circular motion and buffs almost immediately. 20 minutes for a showroom shine.

Giggling.....it's been a long week and I should know better......

Just done my chim with the Meguiars (www.meguiars.co.uk/) Deep Crystal stuff..

1)Soft Wash Gel
2)Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
3)Deep Crystal Polish
4)Deep Crystal Wax

Took 2 1/2 hours and the car now looks the mut's nuts

IMHO easier to use than the AutoGlym products and much better results.

My brother uses Swissol on his Scoob (see www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=13&h=&t=18553) which he's very impressed with. I'll have to "borrow" some to test on the chim.

Thanks for the SWISSOL stuff Ghosty. This really is an expensive business which I cannot seriosly justify. They have "Divine" wax at (wait for it)......£999.99 a tub! WOW! Must be on

Right name because at those prices it surely is a SWISS. Zymol is a lot less expensive at around £100 for a polish kit. Autoglym is far less expensive and is a doddle to apply in any weather hot/cold. It does generate a lot of dust though, but a quick blast after polishing usually gets rid.

I dunno about thse "professional" waxes - you can go overboard if the car itself is not in REAL concours d'elegance condition. Just MHO.

not if you polish first and then use the rotary for buffing
