Did you adjust the Gaz Golds to make them softer for road use? They have an 18 click adjuster on each damper to adjust the ride from soft to hard.
Hey QBee,

I did indeed. It did a good job of softening the damping but the spring rates were still too harsh for road use (for me). They may well not have been the original springs and/or could have been specced to be particularly stiff. I guess it's not really a fair comparison as I don't know the spring rates. Others have praised the Gaz Golds and I'd actually be keen to have a ride in a car with a well sorted set on as a back to back.

You could just get a new set of springs with a known, standard road, poundage. Gaz will sell you some for well under £100.
I cannot now remember the name of the guy who supplies them, but someone will.

I have changed my own springs, admittedly on Mat Smith TVR's 4 post lift with him watching (and laughing), so it can't be too difficult to do, as I am an accountant, not a mechanic, and normal mechnically minded people usually watch me for 5 minutes and then say "here, let me do that".
I seem to remember that, with the dampers off the car, if you mark the position of the base height adjuster with Tippex, and then lower it using the G spanner right down to the bottom, you can take the old springs off without having to compress the springs. If you do this, don't forget which is the front set and which the rear. Or just take it to a proper man.

Thanks QBee - I actually already sold them and replaced them with Bilsteins, which I'm very happy with.

Not an awful job at all. Just fiddly access at the bottom.

Did I read that you have Turbo'd your car? Or did I imagine this?

Yes, it has one of the TorqueV8 kits.
I had to have a new engine anyway, and wanted more power, and that option seemed the best to me.
If you or anyone else are considering it, ask lots of questions on here first in order to avoid the pitfalls and get the result you want for your money.
