Can I suggest that the bike tyre is not in line with the exhaust ...in that the heat will burst the tyre...We have had that happen on one of our bikes in the dim distant past. A@

cheers for that - it is easy to re-secure with the front wheel higher

To remain legal you will need a trailer board with lights because the bike obscures the ones on the car, you can also mount your spare number plate on it.

Not sure about the legality regarding the rear wheel overhang.

Good idea though.

I do have a trailerboard - I'll look at the possibility of using it. May get away with mounting the spare number plate as long as the tail lights are visible

Photo is misleading - more clearance than it looks. Have to be driving stupidly quick to bottom out and won't do that with the bike on the rack.

I will mount the bike higher with the rhs rack fork between the forks and frame.
