it might be worth contacting RealSteel down in UB8 2JP, since they sell these Clutch kits.
That is where I bought my Mcloed twin plate clutch originally. To refresh peoples memories, the clutch was extremely heavy. I even fitted a brake servo to the class system which worked very well but gave a slightly vague feel to the clutch pedal.
I kept being told that this clutch should be light so eventually stripped the whole thing out and sent it back to Mcloed in America. Without committing themselves to supplying faulty parts they supplied a whole new clutch kit to me but just charged me for the two friction plates, (which was plenty!).
I fitted this kit and it was very light as it should be. Obviously the original pressure plate was set up wrongly. I had complained to Real Steel before as did Barrie with his which was faulty but due to the fact that we were speaking to the middleman and the manufacturer was in America we didn't get anywhere hence me going direct. Timewise, my clutch was with them in America within three days so timing was quite good .
Anyhow, the the point of this is, go in with your eyes open. I am sure Barrie and I just had clutches from a bad batch but given the price of these, it's not what you expect. On the plus side, they certainly do the job and are smooth and light in operation.
For reference, my car had an aluminium and steel flywheel that was already fitted to the car when I bought it, the twin plate clutch bolted straight onto it and the clutch release bearing mount did not need any alteration, the clutch went straight in.

For balance My twin plate McLeod was spot on from day one. I did however alter the release bearing carrier as I also fitted a TKO600 gearbox.
Yep I can vouch for this I tried Mac's clutch not long after TKO fit and it was suprisingly light I would compare it to a fresh clutch install in a 4.0 and I gather thats what Peter eventually got after the repair/fixSILICONEKID 357HP said:
