Just a little thought while you have the chassis as is, why don't you renew the pinion oil seal on the rack.

It may have not been leaking before, but odds on it will in the future.

For the sake of £10 and the ease of access you now have it will be worth it.

Once the body is back on its a pain in the a#se to remove the steering rack.

I would suggest if you don't have one making a little dust cover to fit over the pinion, this helps to protect the seal.

Where do you get them from?

The dust cover is just a homemade plastic cap about 44mm inside dia. to fit over the shoulder on the rack.

The dia. of the pinion hole in the centre is 20mm. This is a pic of my first attempt but the 20mm dia hole is not in the centre so i made a 2nd more

successful attempt and thats whats on the car now.

Nice work. When are you aiming for the body fit?

I would treat it to a new set of Rainsports while it's all new and shiny...

My body won’t go on with front anti roll bar attached. You might want to keep those bolts hand tight until you know for sure.
Looking very good that Pete thumbup
