Sorry to revive this, folks, but it was a brilliant sunny dry day up North today (track temp ~ 6 degrees)and I pull up behind a Civic Type R at the roadworks and something tells me he's looked in his mirror and the roadworks are ending and it's the last cone, and fizz he's off, and boom I'm off (O/T yes I fixed the cooling fan fuse ) so I hit the rev limiter in third (after hitting it in second) yes I know it's no way to drive and he pulls into the layby with smoke issuing from sidepods . Honda - the stuff of dreams.....NOT. FWIW he was with me (ish) up to 70 improbable tho it sounds.

where's the rev limiter on yours Chris? Don't think I've ever hit it on mine

He blew his engine? I thought they were supposed to be unburstable.

Me too. Maybe he got it up to 9000 revs instead of 8000!! Fizz Fizz... suspect it was his rad hoses or something in fact - but was receeding too fast in my mirrors to make a detailed diagnosis . My limiter arrives at 6200 - good job, too. I really must calm down a bit. How's tricks in EEdenberg? Any more potholes the size of Wales??

Yeah, they filled in all the original holes & are now digging new ones. No doubt they have a plan, just not a conventional one....
Drove up to Orkney for the weekend - sun, rain, sleet, wind, snow, we had it all... Still, we made "good progress"

White Cosworth with superchip sunviser and bleached blonde in the front seat tried to have a go...

Must say he kept with me to 50 then as I went into 3rd I just left him behind, and the distance just got bigger and bigger. The next set of light were just 1 mile away and on red. You guessed it two lanes empty. He pulled up alongside and reved his little engine. As the lights went green he shot off, and I just poodled of and turned left.

They just dont learn, perhaps he thought he would have a second go, and lose again
