Maybe possible to add some temporary spacers behind the striker to see if it cures it, mark its position on door before playing with it.
Can't remember if that's possible though.

From the video it does look like the door, or at least the striker plate, needs to move towards the rear. Seen some cars with spacers behind the striker plate. How large is the gap between the door and body when closed? Compare to the other side to decide if door or striker plate need adjusting.

It looks like there is a wear pattern on the striker which tells me that it was previously in the right position for quite some time.

So either.
  • The latch is loose and has moved backwards.
  • The door has moved forwards. (unlikely but try lifting the door and see if there is significant play).
  • The chassis has lost integrity allowing the body to be out of alignment.

You'll find over time the doors go out of alignment if you space out your latch on the door it will sort it, I made up some spaces as my passenger door just decided not to close one day, spent ages trying to figure it out until i noticed the latch wasn't aligning with the lock. Some washers will do the job if you cant get any spaces made up.

Spent this weekend fettling with it and it’s the door lock mechanism. As mentioned above it’s ‘dropping’ back after driving it so when the door closes it’s not in the right place to grab the door.

Packed it out with some washers and will take it for a good run to work tomorrow to test the theory but I’m reasonably confident I’ve cracked it. Fairly certain the doors haven’t moved as there’s no flex and the shut lines seem to be as good as tvr made them.
