That’s some set up. 1. V8 5.4 , steel crank, all forged internals plus rotrex c38R, motec M1 ecu plus mapping

Marvellous
When you have totalled up number 1 on your list my 20k investment will seem more sensible I believe

I remain utterly convinced that my Chim has only one goal in life, and that is to chuck me into the hedge - backwards!
I come from owning a Caterham 7 (290bhp VX lump) and that was definitely a car you could drive like your hair was on fire and I did! The Chim, on the other hand, I view very much as a GT cruiser and give it the respect that I think it deserves. I can honestly say that for a non track car, I have never thought that sticking another 50-100 horses under the bonnet would be in the slightest bit good for my health.

There are few cars with such skinny tyres that weigh so little that have the torque and urgency of a Tvr,,,,, until it spins up that is then your in trouble
I think around 320-340 bhp is about right especially if it has 340+ of torques.
It’s a lot when you connect it to a 1950’s designed shed built car
And I love Caterhams with a passion. I often drive and instruct in one around 3 sisters cart track and it’s just the best fun ever.
Tvr are fun on track and it helps to highlight the point that the grip is not the greatest at any time.
Your right to be cautious. I’m very dangerous on tracks but scared to death on the roads! I drive well within the car and my skill set. So rather slowly
