Currently 68deg and clear skies/sunny here in California.

Sorry, I just had to mention it (closes office blind as it's getting too hot). I won't mention the Mazda 323 rental car I did a wikked power slide into the carpark this morning in. Ooops.

Heading home to the rain today though ... at least I'll get to see the new TVRs at the Motorshow on Sunday.

Well I managed to glide past a 360 Spyder. Which was nice. Was destroyed on the straights by a Tuscan (expected) and absolutely maulled under braking and in the bends by the Radicals and Cat R500's that were circulating - no worries, soon caought them on the straights as they run out of puff around 110mph.
Seriously, I'd say that the Toyo's were excellent. Not a revelation, but really good. Started off with 26PSI(F & R), felt a little nervous at the back in the (very) high speed approach to the chicane, and the front wasn't as communicative as I like. Changed to 29(F) 28(R), much better. Started to get that poised 'tip-toes' feeling (some of the improvement probably came from learning the circuit a bit though!). Nice balance & progressive breakaway sooooo easy to power slide with a good chunk of opposite lock out of the chicane onto the start finish straight. Who cares about lap times when sideways is so much fun!
Best of all the (only) V rated front's didn't self destruct at the first sight of some high (140mph down the back straight) speed

well I went with the RE71's on the front due to a technical hitch on getting the SO2's fitted. They seemed to hold grip pretty well and I had no "moments" on the track, just progressive even squealy slides when cornering hard..

Got the S02PP's on now (Huge thanks to Chuck for the info on where to get them)yet to try them in anger.

PS trackday was GREAT !! my thanks to mark, aiden, danny, stuart, and andrew for the company
