Revs drop off at idle when cold
Discussion
From the previous throttle blip thread, I think what some owners are describing is what I experienced yesterday. When the car is started up and she's cold, she'll run at idle, but when you press very lightly on the accelerator, the revs drop off to almost nothing. Lift off it and normal idling returns. Leave things for only a minute or so and this behaviour doesn't happen. I'll be asking David at the Garage to take a look at this when I see him. Am I alone in experiencing this, or does it happen to anyone else?

Ah ha!
RV02, I've been wondering if you were about the other day. I was up at HH and our cars were parked next to each other. It appears they are cousins - identical apart from the gear leaver and door release gaiters on yours!
Matt.

Running rich would cause that. Could be the fuel pressure is too high (possibly 'tweaked' up in the past to try to correct a fuelling problem/increase power?). Alternatively, could be dirty plugs, a problem with the throttle pot, ignition system, or any of a number of sensors in the fueling system.
mine does that so i either wait a minute before setting off, or, if you press your foot down, the revs will sink then rise to whatever you had intended them to be at. if it stalls and doesnt start just wait a few minutes so the engine can clear the excess fuel from the engine. easy if you know whats going on
