Hi Everyone!!!

Any ideas on diagnosis and fix for my speedo? It is accurate speed wise but doesn't seem to be recording accurate mileage!!!

Thanks in advance!!!

This has just happened to mine- Odometer and Trip just stopped.

Was told it would probably spring back into life after a few miles, but it didn't so I removed it with the intention of sending it away for repair. When I triumphantly placed the removed speedo onto my kitchen side the trip sprang up by 60 miles.

Put it back in the car and its working fine.

Thanks for that, actually took the speedo out? Was it a difficult job?

The mileage counters get stuck at XX,999.

Try driving at a steady speed and stab away at the trip reset button.

My old car got completely stuck at 99,999. My current one takes 5-10 miles to click over a 10k barrier...

is there a way to get a squirt of WD40 or maybe switch cleaner, then WD40 silicone to lubricate?

Simple but tricky, worst part really is getting the dashtop off, though there's a really great video showing how to get it off on youtube-

After that unplug the speedo which is one large multiplug and a couple of bulbs, unscrew the knurled nuts securing the dial to the dash panel and slide it out from the front.

Others maybe correct though it may just start working again first time you go over a pothole.

If it's stuck, just tap a little on the body with the dash removed, this usually works (my dashboard isn't bolted anymore, that's an easier job too).
