What do they Paint this things with - the slight little knock against anything and the really soft paint come off all over the bloody car - Can see it being real fun touching all dings in - I don't think I've gotten clumsier since have the Chimeara - not happen like this on any other cars I've had!

Its not so much the paint but the fibre glass underneath which is responsible for the chips as it behaves in a different way to metal when it is struck.Plus of course the car is very low.A lot of chips can be avoided by keeping off motorways and keeping a good distance between you and the car in front.

You can prevent all stone chips by leaving it in the garage...... I'd rather drive mine and suffer the chips !

Agree with the contact between Paint and fiberglass - almost slide off the bloody stuff - having said that a 3000M I had years ago had rock hard non chip paint.

It sure is a mystery. Do TVR use a grease based primer or non stick paint?

Note that TVR now promote a pre-paint coating which reduces stone chips (and therefore scratches). TVRBodyshop are using it. Spk with them if you are considering a re-spray as it only costs (I think) about 80 quid to treat a front end and should lengthen the life of the paintwork

Hmm - bit far for paint chips - think I will have a bash at it myself - get a litre or so of paint from the code and touch in and use vv.fine emery paper and see how it goes - have to 1mm gouges on one lower door that were put there bar first owner - which I keep meaning to do - more fun to drive it!
