Anyone else out there still using their tvr?. i have just been for a blast with the top down, freezing cold and great. I was propositioned by a bunch of old ladies at the traffic lights, now if I could only get the age down by 30-40 years i'd be in their! Appologies to the wife (rudegirl). Anyone else still going topless in the winter. ps Tailed a dark blue griff yesterday out of Bishops Tachbrook, anyone on here?

Kind regards Ocean

Love it. Minus 4C over Snake Pass last errr...Could have been December maybe January.
Forgot the hat though and got very cold ears, now I have one of those with flap down furry ear things warm as toast

Roof off all day Sunday , with a 2 hour round trip thru the country lanes to the Bristol TVCC meet. Bit off a numb head when i got in, must invest in a warmer hat....

Only picked up my first TVR on Friday, had to wait til Sunday to be brave enough to get the roof off.
Is it always a mobile sauna with the roof on?

I think TVRs should have a motorised roof that automatically opens when its dry and sunny (including winter) i often see drivers that need this modification, they could also include a woolly hat in the glove box, !! and apparently string back gloves

Girl in filling station this morning "Ah you're just showing that VW driver [Golf convertible] what a proper sports car is!"

Would have been much more appropriate if the roof had been off. Anyway, I'm writing my Santa letter soon and I'll have to put in a request for some lovely (string back?) driving gloves.......it's me circulation you know!!

Does anyone else agree that the roof would come off much more without the resulting fingers Birds Eye style? Is it to wearing driving gloves this season?

The top is almost always down on my Chim. Sun, cloudy, even drizzle the top is off, only rain means that the lid goes on.

There is nothing like a nice crisp morning for a top down blatt to work to get the brain cells moving.

Bob

PS a gore lined jumper, scarf and flat cap are my usual winter atire to ensure I don't get too cold.

Wooly hat, goretex jacket, gay lord driving gloves ... two hours on motorway at minus 5, big grin ... blue lips. So they match the car.

Bob. It was raining when you drove off from Black Tie and Pie!

So very, very British! Excellent.

It was only a heavy drizzle. It takes more than that to class as rain and to get the top out the boot (again). Progress at more than 30mph and you don't get wet.

Yup, drove back from Bishops Stortford from my son's rugby match on Saturday morning with the roof in the boot...... sadly half way back to Milton Keynes we hit the blanket fog, the temperature dropped to Boeing 747 at 40,000 feet class and we had to reroof. My Chimaera is used daily for work though, so a weekend jaunt is a nice break from MK roundabouts.

Returning from seeing a mate in brackley down the M40 the other day with the top down, started in light rain - no problem, but eventually became torrential. So stopped under a motorway bridge and put the top up. This caused much tooting of horns from the passing plebs, who seemed to think it was in some way amusing.

TVRs can struggle to blow cold air when the engine, bulkhead etc is hot through. Try lowering the windows!

Agreed. With the old coat hanger in scarf trick, sitting alongside hardtopped Boxsters, etc given them that knowing look (trying to hide the streaming nose). Also enjoy see the frost on the engine bay only melting by the vents . . keep that heat in the bay and keep your tootsies warm! As it's colder, everything gets louder - even better.. . .

Still not brave enough to go out in a just vest on top though . . .
