My alarm has gone ballistic - help - managed to find it and unplug but it still went off for an hour - it started beeping a few times when I switched it off - then one night it just went mad - i tried to turn it off but it just sounded like it was ringing louder - new alarm needed? Any idea how much?

It is probably worth doing a search on this as this has been discussed recently. The main problem with the alarm systems (usually a meta system) is that the sounder gets sprayed with water as you drive along and eventually gives up the ghost. Do you know if the hazards were flashing when the alarm was going off? If they weren't it is more than likely to be the sounder. You can get a new one from an alarm specialist. I'm not sure how much one costs though. £80-100 I would guess fitted.

Cheers,

Jamie.

Well worth checking the siren. When my Meta unit went crazy the lovely lady at TVR Centre tried a new siren before I bought it just to check that is was that, see if you can do that too.

Take a look at this one I prepared earlier!

£80 is what I paid...twice! Though my very kind dealer fitted the second one FOC.
The replacement sounder failed 6 months + 2 weeks after fitting...and apparently TVR parts are only guaranteed for 6 months.
