Bit of a hike, but worth it - I live in Blackheath but take my Chim to David Batty, Guildford. Pistonhead customer care award 2002. Nuff said.

I had the aircon regassed at Waldonway, plus an investigation into a ticking noise under the bonnet.

They have been really helpful, especially diagnosing when the fuse link went over the phone on mine.

They are a bit pricey though, I am still deciding whether to take it back to Waldonway or try Castle.

My experiences with castle have not been good.

Had a bit of an argument with them over what was included in the service, as according to the service schedule i have from TVR engineering said that the tracking etc should be done on every 6000 mile service, they said it is only done on the 12,000. Plus the work they did do wasn`t very good.

I agree 100% with Cutmonster! David Batty is THE man as far as Griffiths and Chimaeras are concerned!
I live near Maidstone in Kent and although there is a main dealer very close to me, i'm affraid they will never be seeing me again! So despite being about an hours drive away David gets my full recommendation!

Its back to the question of who is the offical main dealer? Waldonway have not been the best by anymeans but I thought they were Kent's only offical TVR garage. Am I wrong?

I used to be based in Kent and have tried various people in the area with mixed results, and I now go to Dave Batty even though I live in north west London. Big relief to find someone you can really trust.

Depends where you are in Kent (we're on the Southern border) and Classic Dream Machines in Heathfield are our nearest and I've been happy with them.

Glad to hear it. I alas have not. Very nice people but very very high servicing costs (£60 ph when I was last there--higher than Blackpool) and, alas, since they are relatively new on the scene, nobody with real experience of TVRs. Basically you are paying for their learning curve.
