Just had my standard Meta alarm replaced and managed so salvage the old siren.

I had this replaced around 8 months ago so I know at least this part of the system is fine.

If anyone needs to replace one, give me a shout and its yours.

Ta,

Matt.

I have a Meta alarm system that actually works at present. Would be handy to have a spare siren for it though as it sounds like they don't live too long so maybe we could come to some arrangement

Edited to say - I wonder if honesty is always the best policy

Insert several rude words. Mine has starting going mental recently so I need one badly. Perhaps there are other owners who have upgraded their alarms?

Mine made a loud gurgling noise then squeeled relentlessly untill I ripped it out and dumped it in a bucket of water !!

Result....desparately seeking new siren.

How much?

Hello,

GRAND-ONE, as you e mailed me first its yours but you need to give me a call to let me know you still want it. I need to let these guys know see

If not, next on the list is Clegg followed by incorrigible!

And Ribol, although you replied first(and assuming everyone else is as honest as you), I would prefer to pass this someone who actually has a current alarm crisis. No hard feelings I trust!!!!!!

Will let you all know when I hear from Grand-one.

Cheers,

Matt.

I would love to buy a car from MAT101 if it had PAS. He sounds an honourable person.

HA, Brent!

You know, I think you may have made a good choice on the PAS thing after all. It appears that my Girlfriend has grown larger biceps than mine!

And now, If she wants to drive, she drives

Im still on the non PAS side of the fence but it does seem to be something that buyers look for on the whole.
Now I have managed to get the Cerbera thing out of my head (for now!!) I look forward to being with my Chimaera for some time yet.....Anyway, all topics for other threads.

Grand-one sent me a mail earlier so it looks like the siren has found a home.

Cheers,

Matt.

Thats about the best thing you can do with a Meta alarm Autowatch make alarms are a lot more reliable than meta cobra etc and they are fitted as standard to nobles

My siren was starting to go mental after hitting a few rather large puddles at new year. When armed, it was making occasional warbling noises which is what the last siren did before it was replaced.

I have since removed the siren and dried it out on a radiator for 3 days. It's now back in the car and functioning perfectly (touch wood).

If you do manage to get water in it, if you can get the water out before the circuit boards rust and corrode, it might be OK.

try and angle the alarm downwards at about 45 degrees, it stops water entering
