New Bright Yellow Chimp
Discussion
Just to say that I've returned to Chimaera ownership, following a 3 year absence and it's superb! On Saturday I bought a bright yellow 2000 Chimaera 450 and can't get the grin off my face.
This might not seem suprising on the face of it, but the car I've changed from is a Cerbera Speed Six. Don't know if others have had similar experiences but it is really quite noticeable how much more refined the Cerbera 6 is - which speaks volumes for the company. But the trade off is that it's not as exciting - at least I don't think so. I suppose it's a `horses for courses' thing. Anyway, can't wait for some nice weather!

took me 6 years to persuade the missus to let me have a yellow(ish) one and I love it. I think all TVR's should be bright colours, nothing against green, red and blue ones, honest, but all manufacturers do these colours. if your going to have a (relatively) rare car why not go for a striking colour.
running for cover now, bye......

Yes thirsty - Giallo Fly it is.
As some others have said, bright yellow takes some persuading the wife. But after several `classier’ colours, I thought, if I’m going to have another convertible TVR, to be used more in the nicer weather, then I’m going to have a bright one! The wife agreed this was a logical argument, so conceded. Anyway, she now thinks it’s great!

Martin, is Giallo(sic???) the pearlescent yellow? Was blown away by the look of one of these @ Christopher Neils last summer, i think it was also a 450. Very, VERY tempted by it, but was a tad overpriced. Instead went for metallic black 400 which, in contrast to all those gaudy bright Chims, is the epitome of mean, imposing power. (well it will be if I can persuade er indoors to get it 'tuscanned' & 'afterburned' front & back respectively!!)
So lets hear it for 'dullard' chims!!!

No, Giallo Fly is apparently the yellow colour Ferarri use, which is a solid colour. But when I saw it in the showroom it looked stunning! My gripe with darker metallics is that they show all the marks, particularly when the sun comes out - although they do look fantastic when they're polished and the weather's a bit duller. With my other cars, I almost dreaded sunny days! It's not going to happen with this one though - the brighter the sun the better!

My Chimaera is metallic yellow and I believe it is officially called Halcyon Midas Pearl.Marvellous colour and suits the car perfectly.
Well my opinion is that you can never have enough yellow Chimaera's. I have one, which is no where near enough. Not sure about the official name of the colour though, I just call mine number plate yellow. Do we all have aluminium dashboards and yellow dials as well then ?
By the way, hello to all at PH, I'm a newbee.

Mine has pale blue hide with red piping and white stitching. The carpets are sort of brown. The dash is ally with the yellow dials and at night the lights are emerald green inside. I picked the car up really cheap. Can't understand why, the dealer knocked a grand off it just because I wanted to sit in it. Most odd.
Forgot to say it has a burgandy roof.
