Having had the Chimaera try to change ends on me several times this week (including one particularly embaressing moment in my village in front of the entire school-bus queue at, ooh, 15 mph!) I've decided that it's time to change the rear tyres.

Has anyone had any luck locating rear SO2's lately? All my local places are shrugging their shoulders. I know everyone's opinion on SO3's etc. etc, but if there's any out there, I'd like to snap them up!

I bought a pair of front SO2s the other day from www.tyre4u.com/main.htm. They delivered them in a few days and I need to get them fitted. They cost just over £90 each including VAT and delivery.

Total Tyres at Binfield Berkshire - took 1 hour to get 2 rear SO2's in stock and £94 each fitted balanced etc.
Better than SO3's in the wet can't tell much difference in the dry. 01334 489 396

My year old 4k SO3's stick like sh*t to a blanket in the wet, why would So2'd be any better? They're an older tyre

I agree. S03s seem better in the wet and just as good in the dry after about 500mls or so to bed them in.

My local tyre supplier said that he can source SO-2 with no problems at all. Same price as SO-3s, which I went for on the back to match the existing fronts.

I had heard that some SO-2s are a "special formulation" for Honda S2000???

He arrived last Saturday! The wife was very workmanlike about the whole thing, which was great, as I nearly fainted, and he has now set about changing my sleep patterns for ever. But, as you can see, I still have the TVR!

It was interesting actually, because everyone knows that when your wife is pregnant, you can go as fast as you like on a public highway (in order to get her to the labour ward). However, she wouldn't get into the TVR in her state, which was a shame. I did toy with the idea of asking her to follow in her car, but she wouldn't, so I had to drive her in the Audi....

Got 125 out of it on the A14 though (it was 3.25 in the morning, and she was in desparate pain...)

Yes - used to enjoy getting wheelspin in third with my old tyres, but just not possible with S03s any more - all that blinking traction I guess....
