Hi everyone, I know the subject of cooling fans not working has been done before and I have read the previous threads but I'm still confused ! (not difficult I hear you all say)

If you're sitting comfortably I'll explain.....

I have a 95 4.0l Chim and yesterday in heavy traffic she started to get a bit hot. When I got home I discovered that only one fan was working.

Now, having consulted the bible and previous threads I have established the following:

1)The car has a 20amp cooling fan fuse and 30 amp horn fuse
2)The horn works
3)Having disconected the otter switch and connected the 2 terminals together both fans work fine
3)Having put the otter switch back together, I then ran the car up to temperature and once again only one fan kicks in.

My guess is from this information one of you will be able to work out what I need to check next.....me, well I'm confused.......

Just to save anyone else posting on this subject, I found the problem.

Basically too much green scum on one of the fan terminals, touch of WD40 and all is well.
