Anyone experienced any problems with their Inertia reel seat belts? My passenger side one jams from time to time, does not matter what angle the car is sitting at, it just will not pull out. A slight tap to the reel releases it and when out once it works and locks perfectly so it is not unsafe in any way, just annoying.

Any ideas? Failing that any idea what car they are off and are they handed - would prefer to just change the belt/reel part if it comes to it.

Blimey that was a quick answer - feel much better about it now. Girlfriend no happier about travelling in the boot though

"They all do that Sir". It's a TVR feature, still to be found in the current range as well

You're not alone..........although mine is passenger side only that gets trapped. Not enough use was my simple diagnosis.

What often happens is that because the belt is pulled at a slight angle away from the vertical the pressure can spin the bottom mount on it's bolt. Once the roller has been twisted slightly the locking mechanism can keep jamming. Go behind the seat and try twisting the roller so it is horizontal, not twisted a bit.

Mine jammed all the time until I repositioned the roller this way.

Also, if it doesn't roll back in properly, check that the belt is not being caught between the seat and the rear bulkhead. The seat can jam the belt that way.

Good luck!
