Speedo Calibration
Discussion
My speedo has given me no end of hassles. It has a digital read out for the mileage and so far here are the problems:
When I bought the car, it was already on speedo no2....
Originally it added on 1 mile every time the ignition was turned on or off. I took it back to the dealer (Brooklands) who sent the speedo to the factory, 2 weeks later it came back 'fixed'
The speedo was now very inaccurate - reading about 60 miles an hour over at any speed above 40... Again it went back to the dealer, who sent it off to the factory and it came back fixed, for the time being anyway
About 2 years later it developed a new fault, every time I turned the ignition off it reset the mileage to 0, This time I took it to Westover and they sent it away and it came back fixed...
Now it is accurate below 60, about 70 it stops!!
If you have any luck getting yours sorted let me know....

Midge, this has been discussed many times - speedo accuracy etc. Mine is similar to yours - I don't think I've seen mine over 90 and by that time I'm flying past everything! When showing 70 I believe I'm doing about 90 so cameras, plod etc are a concern. I was told it's to do with the transponder at the diff but when the guy came to fix it he showed concern over the wiring there. I'm waiting for a return visit in warmer climes for him to check out the wires etc. You may want to check that the gap at the transponder is 0.1 -0.2mm (very small).
