Average age of Chim owners?
Discussion
I reckon I must be one of the youngest actual TVR OWNERS on this board at 21y.o... just wondering where I fit in the overall demographics of PHers!
And to pre-empt the inevitable jibes, I'm a responsible driver - def not a boy-racer! Besides, I don't need to be in a TVR - a little tickle of the accelerator would be enough to see off most of the Nova crew!!!
And yes, having gone from an Audi TT to a Chim only two months after my 21st, I AM a lucky bastid

Great to see a few other people of my generation that appreciate the finer things in life! Too many of our age group are too buried in MAX POWER to realise that true motoring heaven isn't in a Jap four-cylinder running 500bhp and more plastic wings than something out of Wacky Races!
I'm also somewhat relieved - I had images of going along to some of the meets and finding myself the youngest by a long way!
Just out of interest, are there any insurance companies that are better than others for young TVR drivers? Mine'll be up for renewal in a month (I've just changed to the TVR on a policy I originally took out for the TT) and some pointers would be great!
Cheers,
Gareth

Wow! I wouldn't have expected a mainstream company like Privilege to be competitive. I'll have to make sure to call them! I was just going to stick to the specialists.
Best quote I've got so far (internet quotes so not really reliable - probably a bit lower on the phone) is £3000 - that's with 3yrs NCB and £250 excess. After paying £4000 for my TT, any reduction is appreciated, and considering the extra smiles-per-mile from a TVR, worth every penny!
26. I bet half the people I drive past think I've stolen it! I gave a friend of mine a ride & we happened to overtake his parents who were driving along at the time. Apparently, when he saw them next, they asked when he had become a drug dealer - not sure if they were joking or not!!!
