Not picking on this note Per Se but there are more and more 'I'll only come out to play if it's not raining' posts lately.
Are all these TVR's made of sugar? Mine isn't I know 'cos I use it all the time, I just wondered if it had the optional anti-rain coating when built!

It may well be a nice pub with good food (it does look like it from the car park !), but that is NOT where the Surrey TVR club meets !
The web site is wrong.

The venue (according to this thread) is the Talbot in Ripley (just off the A3).
Supposed meeeting time is 8:15 - 8:30 (short meeting !).

I shall be there, even if it's raining, since I was out at the weekend and it seems the water in the footwell was caused when I washed the car last. I have another reason for rain avoidance - tread levels are getting low. Anyone bought new tyres recently and if so how much?

Cheers,

Steve

Bless 'em they've returned to the Talbot after a short absence.

More convenient for me but not as nice a pub.

Steve t - Re Tyres

Quoted from ATS Heathrow
£99.81 front - SO2`s
£132.16 rear - S02`s

Same From Feltham Tyres -Middx
£97.00 front

Someone on the site reckons that you can get a good deal from Micheldever Tyres and they will deliver - web site is www.micheldever.co.uk

Steve T...not sure where you are based, but Bracknell Tyres are quite competitive. In May, I paid £103 per tyre for rear SO2's, and about £92 per tyre for front SO3's (Sep). My Chim was in for a minor leak and then its' service, so replacing the tyres became part of the work on both occasions

May stick with SO2s due to the varied response to SO3s within the group. I doubt with my skills I'll notice a difference except in price! Thoughts everyone?

Cheers,

Steve

Red carnations at 8pm then boys ! (and girls ofcourse)

Only genuine excuses accepted for not turning up in a TVR.

One of the following is acceptable :

- I haven't got a TVR yet.
- I have a TVR, but its being fixed at the moment.
- I have a TVR but my partner went out for a 5 minute drive in it and hasn't come back yet.

The following are not valid excuses :
- Its raining !
- I forgot !
- its not the weekend !
- this car is nicer !!!!!!

See ya later

(I'll be the one smelling of Hammerite !)

Agree with your comments Steve...even though I didn't get round to meeting you or your wife...there were too many newcomers! A good turn out (and it was good see that most had driven their TVRs). As a fresher I felt very welcome and I look forward to the xmas meal on the 19th.

Phil,

First I've heard of mucky calendars, have I missed anything? - I'm intrigued.

Good to meet you all last night - a good evening and great to see so many piston head gassers there! Being in the car park when all those TVR`s started up and zoomed off was excellent!! (Poor neighbours!!)

See you all soon,
